    The unread count is irrelevant and annoying, regardless of folder. The ability to show only unread mail is entirely sufficient. The number doesn't change my workflow, and it detracts from the clean, focused environment I'm always after.

    Optionality is the root solution for all requests to hide message count(s), whether by read/unread status or folder. This feature request would have dozens of upvotes if those requests were incorporated. Thanks.
