    We all receive dozens of emails a day. Most of them are junk and most of the rest are things like mailing lists that I do want but don't need to be notified about. I have a workaround: forward all mail to "contacts" and "other" and notify on contacts, but then my actual inbox, which is special in the UI, is always empty.

    I save the email to record that I've sent it, but often don't need the documents themselves, and they take a lot of space.
