This would be an incredible time-saver! Imagine having AI assistance that can draft emails intelligently, manage your calendar by finding optimal meeting times, analyze documents in Drive to extract key insights, and automatically select the best VPN server based on your usage patterns and current needs.
Without implementing features like this, Proton risks becoming outdated in a market where AI integration is rapidly becoming the standard. Users expect smart, helpful features, and if Proton doesn't evolve to include privacy-first AI capabilities, they might be forced to choose between privacy and productivity.
Implementing MCP integration would represent significant added value to Proton's entire product suite. It would differentiate Proton as the only privacy-focused service offering truly intelligent features, potentially justifying premium pricing and attracting users who currently use less private alternatives simply for their AI capabilities.
Most importantly, since this would be an optional integration, users who are skeptical or uncomfortable with AI can simply choose not to use these features - their data would remain completely untouched and unprocessed by any AI systems. This respects user choice while offering advanced capabilities to those who want them, making it a perfect fit for Proton's user-centric philosophy.
