    This requires a dynDNS service; and for the poor users behind carrier grade NAT even a static IP address. If you've got either of that, you can use the wireguard app to connect home and use proton from there to reach the internet.

    Adding static routes should be done outside the VPN app. It is risky if you have a permanent static route when roaming and inadvertendly connect to devices in insecure networks.
