When I am in my email on Proton, there's already a placeholder for a possible user photo, but when I click into it and go where I think I'd change the profile picture (PFP), all it does is highlights the letter that might appear when I send an email--no option to upload a custom logo that would appear to those who receive my messages. Where do I change my PFP? This would be a nice feature in Proton Calendar, too, especially since I can share a publicly-accessible link to the calendar. And you know what, even the Drive could benefit from having a PFP sometimes.

To Proton and anyone reading, I cannot emphasize enough-- ProtonMail is sooooooooo, SOOOOO close to being at a point where I could practically and near-fully stop using Gmail or any other major email service all together if I wanted--aside from instances where I must use those other services that consistently annoy people with ads or other aspects.

Like it or not, having a company logo (or in my case, a screen name and profile picture) appear when I send an email to someone is important. If the PFP only shows a letter instead of a custom logo, I do believe some people are going to, at first, suspect it's a sc4m even though it's not--It's my genuine, new email I want to go with in the future when communicating with people. I'm a noob in how this feature would be implemented and the challenges therein, but since I can have my own choice of name appear for the email I am using when sending mail, I don't see any obvious reason PFP's couldn't be the same way, custom profile picture when sending messages. And hey, if storage is a concern, limit it to a small res or less than 2000 kb or something--most major services do this already.

I know others have mentioned this feature idea, but I wanted to give my own thoughts on it.

Again, I cannot emphasize enough, ProtonMail is genuinely soooooo close. I can schedule emails to send out at a certain time of my choosing. I can embed images, then highlight said images and link to websites. I can create a list of email addresses to send to, making it easy to send to those who want a newsletter, etc. Not only do I have labels, I have folders. I can do in ProtonMail virtually everything I normally would do in Gmail or other major email clients except for a custom PFP. In many cases aside from PFP, I can do more than I can in any other major email client--for example, I don't believe I can have five Gmails tied to the same account and inbox.

TL;DR: Please add the option to upload a custom profile picture so that when I send emails, the receiving contact is likely to see my profile picture so long as their client accepts displaying a profile picture. Having a letter appear instead of a logo, especially when people are used to seeing that logo, is vital. The layout to implement this feature is already there, so in my opinion, this is a change/upgrade to an existing feature rather than a new feature.
