As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap, this is being developed: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026

Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.

Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

Please, are files or tags really an upcoming feature ? Any timeline ?

I've been using a password manager for as long as they exist. I've changed a few times throughout the years. They ALL had either a tag or a folders system to be more organized.
It seems so essential that I was stunned when I recently tried to switch to Proton pass and realized the feature is missing..

Proton offers a vault system but it's not quite the same. Even in a vault I want to put logins together. It's just about being practical and having an easier experience on the web.
For example I have a Travelling file. In it I have a few useful files for my passwords : Airlines, Banking, a few countrie's names I go back to with related websites and services, etc.

It's weird because there is a simple work around : add "tags" as notes for each login. But it's not very practical and visual. Would be nice to finally see a file function be implemented.

Until they add files I have to switch back to my previous app. Too bad, I loved what I saw so far with Proton.

However it is such an easy feature to add and highly requested that I assume Proton is trying to sell more subscriptions through their "Vault" thingy :(
