While this has been the most requested feature for years, Proton has instead developed an AI assistant and a crypto wallet. I think this fact speaks for itself. I take back what I have earlier said about giving the Proton team 6 months. I will start looking for alternatives today.

Basically I need Proton Drive client for Linux to be implemented ASAP or I will have to leave Proton. Migrating my e-mail will be a pain, but it is soon time. I give the Proton team 6 months. I have already waited waaay longer than I ever thought I would have to. I have been a paying customer for many years now. I switched to Proton for the same reason that I switched to Linux: Privacy.

It is more hassle to make Proton Drive work on Liunx (I have not managed it yet) than to just encrypt all my files locally before putting them in my Dropbox. I do this even though I pay for Proton. Conclusion: Proton Drive is a worse private cloud solution than Dropbox for Linux users. When I tell about this to people, they laugh. I don't.
