Why has this not been developed yet? Heck, I know many of us in the Proton ecosystem would make this happen in a weekend if Proton Drive was open sourced or had a plugin API. The load benefit alone would save Proton a ton of money considering the development cost is trivial, plus, the benefit to power users is enormous. Like Emil just mentioned, rip off Git and have a .protonignore file of some sort!
