I'm in the process of trying to de-Google my life as much as possible and this inability to manually upload photos from my Samsung phone to Proton Photos is a critical issue for me. As someone else commented, I can upload from my phone to a folder in Proton Drive, but then I have to download those photos to my laptop and re-upload to Proton Photos. I thought I was doing something wrong, or missing some important piece of information, until I found this post. I hope this is something that will be addressed in the near future, as it seems to me to be very basic functionality that is sorely lacking. There needs to be comparable options/functionality for those of us who want to move away from Google services. (If it makes a difference, I'm currently paying for Proton Unlimited for the initial 12 months, but will downgrade next year if this continues to be a problem.)
