   F-droid has some security issues (see discussions around the Signal project), though I think maybe it is not that bad.
   In the meantime, even though it is not 100% satisfactory, you can always use the Aurora app as a non-google proxy to the play store

   there are already plenty of solutions to move away from google (Lineage, Replicant, and non-android distros), this feels like reinventing the wheel
