Offline calendar
I don't really mind whether its a bridge to an existing app - Apple Mail, Lightning - or adedicated proton app but I need a calendar that I can use (rather than just view) offline. That means adding and editing events. This seems to me a pretty basic function, without it Proton Calendar is not much use to me. I am offline a lot of the time.

@proton Can you please provide an update on this critical flaw in your product? Thanks!

Updates on this functionality?

100% agreed. Offline access is an essential feature that Proton Calendar lacks

I second this. Offline access is an essential feature that Proton Calendar lacks.

They just updated the Proton Mail app so that you could write a message offline and it would send when you are connected again. So there is the functionality there for Proton Calendar to do the same with adding offline entries then syncing once connected to the served again.

Proton Calendar should have been originally made to be an offline calendar with end-to-end encrypted syncing of the data that is stored offline. Right now, this product is unusable to me as I am often outside of cell service. I wish I could make entries and it could later sync up to servers once I connect again to the internet.

I swear I've added events, but I cannot find them later. Perhaps they weren't added because I was offline and I missed the error message. Please make the error messages more prominent if you cannot make additions/edits while offline. This is very frustrating & I wonder if I'm losing my mind. This essential feature has been "under review" for almost 3 years!

Would really love this. Would love it if the Proton Mail+Calendar apps would cache / store my email / calendar data locally on the device (but still encrypted) so they could be used whether the device has internet connection or not.
I ack it's not a simple endeavor

I also need to add appointments when offline and have it sync up next chance it gets. Particularly on my phone.

I am running GrapheneOS with Proton Calendar installed. Is this also the reason why I cannot select Proton Calendar as the default calendar app?

I would like to add that I use my calendar as both a map of future events but as a log of past events. The search function for the application running on Mac OS for calendar is unbelievably slow because it must index my entire archive on the fly (not downloaded). In addition, the application won't even display calendar entries for several minutes when I select a specific day as if it downloads calendar entries in some pre-specified (not prioritizing the active date range (in my case a single day). As I try to rely on Protonmail more and more, the service becomes less and less helpful because of such issues.

It would be great to be able to make calendar changes like create/delete events locally when offline, and sync when back online.
This is similar to https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/48955238-offline-email-access

This is beyond frustrating! I try to live as much of my life as possible off WiFi and in airplane mode, and the way this makes it impossible to even reference the calendar offline makes it non-functional. I don't think I even get event notifications without being online.

Absolutely the most critical missing feature on proton calendar. Unfortunately makes it hard to switch to proton calendar without this feature

Offline Calendar is a critical feature that is missing from the mobile apps since the beginning. All alternative calendars allow you to add/edit/delete events while offline. When are you going to deliver?
