Yes, this is an essential functionality of any email client. I understand this is harder to implement in a simple web app wrapper, but for a paid service from a company this size, I actually expect native, well written applications that work resource efficiently and offline.

Still no Linux Proton Drive app is making me reconsider Proton as a whole. What is the status on this? Why does it take so long while new products are being launched?!

Having native lean applications that respect OS specific conventions should be a standard for a paid Mail and Calendar service. For me this is where money and effort should flow into (right after priority one of privacy). I do not need fancy new features, especially if the foundation is not there yet.
I totally understood that when Proton was still young, building web wrapper apps was an economical necessity. But now, Proton wastes time and money on useless LLM stuff while neglecting its core business.
If user experience isn't improving soon (and I don't think web wrapper apps can have a great native efficient user experience, but also happy to be proven wrong), I am off to other services.

ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

Being able to view and create emails and calendar events offline is a vital and important feature. I even wonder why this basic feature needs so much time for the Proton team to actually implement.

I switched to Proton Calendar recently, but have been a Proton Mail user for quite some time. However, I do often work out from the train or places without a great internet connection. It is absolutely vital for me to be able to view and create calendar entries offline, mobile and on desktop.

I prefer having separate applications for my calendar and mail. It is inconvenient to be able to only view calendar or a mail view.
Furthermore, it does not make sense, that I have to open "Proton Mail", so that I can see my calendar.

That would be fantastic! I do need efficient, private, secure and reliable productivity services. I do not want or need LLMs from Proton and the Scribe buttons in Mail are taking up valuable space.
A simple one opt-out toggle would be a great user experience (or even better: opt-in ;) ) to get rid off any LLM stuff from my account.
