Offline mode for mobile
Please allow the app to perform offline operations (read any and all inbox email, delete, write and send emails), which will be queued for syncing whenever online. Same for calendar events.
As it is now, any email sending/deleting, calendar event creation etc will FAIL if the phone happens to be disconnecting from wifi, changing networks or any of the thousands of possibilities of a mobile device moving around at all times. Any other Android email client knows to queue these tasks offline (ie, gmail OUTBOX folder), and sync them with the server at any available time it manages to connect, or keep trying until it does (and not throwing a FAILED error, trashing all the text you wrote).

For me who travels a lot, this is really a deal breaker!
I need to be able to have my emails available even when im offline!
Please allow us, at least which folders that will be synced for offline mode. -

This is probably the main thing stopping me from renewing my subscription.

Yup... Search still missing. Outbox folder still missing. Inbox seems to download only a short cache of emails. No option is given to control how much.
No way to know if any given email is the full email, or just the unsynced header. Unless you try to open while you're already traveling and offline, and surprise! ...your booking number code can't be seen, because it was just the email header, without the email actual contents. No way to know if your email in the 'sent' folder is actually 'sent'...or it is still actively sending. That's terrible app feedback, very misleading.
If you're traveling, these are really deal breakers.

Just downloaded the new update. No searchable message content as far as I can see. I’m incredibly disappointed, that’s the one feature a lot of us were hoping for coming to mobile.

I hope that in this new version that is being talked about, messages will be searchable by content like on desktop. This feature is absolutely critical and let me down so many times.

@Sammy - offline mode is currently being tested in the new apps that will be rolling out later this summer

Oh I JUST paid for proton. Going to keep it because it lets me use my custom domain, but ****, means I won't be transferring fully over at this time.
Calendar is definitely going back to google.

Would love to see this feature implemented. It'd be great to be able to able to see and search my mobile email while being offline.

I am actively degoogling and Proton unlimited is definitely top of the list for me but, without the ability to search email content on my mobile, I don't think I can migrate my account. I have about 5Go of emails that are not organised and logging in through a browser, activate the search content option, wait for the index to create, then search for what I need is not really a sustainable solution for me.
Most of the use cases mentioned in the OP seem to work though. I am not sure why content search is left behind in all this. :-(

I also just migrated to proton mail and this is a bit of a surprise. Mails created offline on my Android device seem to get sent once you reconnect, but I cannot read mails which are in my inbox even when already opened previously. This should be corrected rapidly.

This is a must have, please. At the moment the app is no more use than mobile web.

I have just migrated from gmail to proton mail and for the most part, it's great, but it is really difficult for me not to be able to use the android apps for mail and calendar offline at all. Can the team update on whether this is being considered or not? If it isn't, I might have to rethink the full migration.

Super important feature, can’t believe Proton still doesn’t have it. I can’t make proton my primary email provider without it.
It’s been over a year, why is the request still not being reviewed?

Really need this feature to make Proton Mail my primary email provider. I wanted to sign up for a premium, but after discovering that I can't see my emails when I don't have internet is a no go (e.g. traveling and can't get the flight or hotel booking emails). This works flawlessly with the iOS app.

I do not have this problem. Is it already fixed or what do I have to do to see the problem?

Offline full or user selective download to store Emails, attachments and folders locally (encrypted) including all local operations (read/write/edit/delete, etc.) is a basic feature for various obvious reasons yet one is caught with a huge surprise that this fundamental feature is missing (in a modern App(lications) like ProtonMail mobile app and Desktop Web version), rendering it basically useless without any internet connection.
Please response to help us understand why this is still not a priority now that we are almost at the end of the year 2024.
Thank you!
->
Although it appears that a previously opened Email using ProtonMail mobile App (Android) continues to be available offline, this is still impractical as the user now has to keep a tab on each and every Email that has been opened before i.e.contents of an important Email not accessible if not opened previously.
