Given the whole goal of Proton is privacy and security - native Linux apps are crucial. Please get the current "Beta" version for Linux completed and given equal status to MacOS and Windows versions.

There is *a* package on the AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/proton-mail), but it is not maintained by proton and is one minor version out of date (as of writing). Having an officially maintained package would be amazing.

Please could these be available in arm64 so I can run Proton Mail desktop on my Raspberry Pi.

PrivacyAcademy.com members are all switching from Mac and Windowns to Linux (Zorin distro). Privacy Academy highly recommends Proton. But many of us are needing to switch from Proton to Mullvad VPN, for example, because of Proton's limited integration with Linux. Same with Proton Mail. Thanks.

If there is a need for support beyond Ubuntu/Debian or RHEL/Fedora, a new Idea should be created for that specific format/distribution (AppImage, Snap, Flatpak, NixOS, Arch, etc)

Let the distro's build their own native package manager apps.
For the love of all sanity, stay well away from Snap! In a worse case scenario use flatpak but these sandboxing approaches are just so problematic and not worth the hassle for the users or the support who have to deal with the queries.

Flatpak would be ideal, but I will take the deb. Would be nice to have a repo so I could auto-update the deb package.

I just uninstalled the Windows app because it felt just like an "exe wrapper" of the page, and the page on the browser works faster.

So the "app for desktop" unless it actually integrates with the OS (win/mac/linux)... I feel it's useless.

Flatpak version for mail and all other proton services is important

As said before, only distributing apps as .deb or .rpm locks out a significant group of linux users and greatly decreases the value of your services for me. I have been using the web versions of mail and manually entering VPN info for years and seeing dedicated apps released for linux but only in formats that don't work on any of my machines is painful.

Please create flatpak versions or .tar releases with an install script for distribution independent use.
