I use linux across all of my machines. I currently use email and pay for the vpn (which still doesn't support the stealth protocol). At this point, if something better comes along for me, I'll switch.

ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

I pay for Proton VPN already. Why should I have to pay more just to use this mail client in a non-browser environment?
Also, +1 for a plugin. That way thunderbird could ship it and it would be an easy process to install the plugin to get things working. I already manage a bunch of gmail accounts with thunderbird with separate calendars and contacts.
