make a default domain shorter
Make a regular domain shorter, for example: user@pm.com.
user@protonmail.com is too long
ProtonMail now offers the domain pm.me for email addresses. You can learn more within the settings of your account or at https://pm.me/.

1) username@pmail.com
The option carries the familiarity already established by gmail and ymail while also carrying the connotation of "(p)rivate mail." I can already see the marketing and commercials saying or displaying something like "(P)rivate mail, (P)rotonMail". It is short and easy to pronounce when giving out to contacts and businesses.2) username@proton.me
Short, but still carries the brand name.3) username@promail.com
Sounds professional. -

They recently acquired a two letter domain. Most probably pm.me since it takes you to their website. They recently tweeted about that but no date when the alias could be used by everyone wasn't mentioned.

additional or custom domains isn't quite what i think most people had in mind, particularly since you're offering those as a paid service (which i do appreciate, and don't think should be removed). in addition to those options, a significant change from "protonmail.com" to "something a little snappier.com" can only help this service grow. it matters that some people hear the address and react with "omfg you're a nerd" instead of "oh hey, what's that now? please explain!"

The .mail domain is going to be released soon. Could you add another domain such that user@proton.mail in order to make addresses shorter?

Remember .com domains fall under US control and attempted access rights are becoming more aggressive due to the Patriot Act. At least so they say.
Let's at least keep a NON-.com alternative open!
If it could be available, my vote is certainly for pm.ch.Really just anything else much shorter than protonmail and a non-.com, non-eu, non-uk, non-.au, non-.ca domain.
I wonder if current users would be able to have their user name automatically updated in the system to go with the new shorter domain instead of trying to sign up again and hoping to get the same user name at the new domain.
(how's that for a nice run-on sentence ;)Thanks.
