Sync contacts with phone address book
Sync the Protonmail contacts with the phone address book (contacts app) and vice versa.

It's marked in early 2019 as "planned" and it is one of the most sought-after features - come on Proton, I know you can do better!

Contacts need an interface to Android!!!

The few last features to de-google easily (contact sync, proton sheets)

Definitely more than a nice to have.
Perhaps it would be a nice idea to control what’s part of the sync, I.e. which contacts and which fields of them.

Not having a feature like this makes Proton much less usable and unable to be integrated in my daily habits. Unfortunate that this has been planned but not executed for so long

Hahaha, what a joke! This functionality is planned for more than 6 years ago and until now: nada, nothing. Or is it maybe planned to be developed in 10 years? :-)

Woah. Signed up for a year today but this feature is essential. I probably need to ask for refund...
Essential feature... -

@Ivory Proton.
This is not really the forum to discuss optional services, but I'll add this comment regarding kSuite anyway.
Ksuite is not an end-to-end encrypted service as Proton (and Tuta) is. Sure, you can add PGP on you own, but then you might as well use any other service as well. And if you want the other components of their service to be E2E, you'd have to roll your own encryption on them as well.

Like others, I'm shocked that this has been set as planned since 2019 and hasn't been implemented. Was about delete all of my contacts out of google, to realise that I can't as I need them for my android phone. So now I have a set of my contacts just sat in Proton doing nothing. What a waste. Is this written on a roadmap anywhere?

What an absurd oversight! I've been using this feature on free email providers for years! I want to love proton, but simple features like this are missing.

How can this still be planned since 2019?? We need this asap, before Wallet and other fancy stuff.

I'm trying to get away from google services, that's why this feature would be great.

A paid-for email service in 2025 should allow access to all data from a smartphone.
I maintain a Nextcloud instance on a server at my house for this purpose, I just have to remember to manually sync between Nextcloud <--> Proton periodically. Totally a pain.

This is a critical feature that is preventing me from fully dedicating myself in Proton. Whichever email client you use needs access to your contacts so you can recognize emails, however if you loose your device, you need the ability to restore your contacts from your mail client back to the default phone contact app. Plus, each day we adjust and add contacts to our phone that we want saved and synced right away. If someone new emails me, I want to be able to save that contact information both in Proton and on my phone.
Until Proton can frequently sync its services with my phone's on-device contacts list, I can't leave gmail, making it pointless to fully switch to Proton.

This will only work for some of us if they provide the option to format the addresses the way we do in our home country. I will not use contacts until I can get the standard United States address format. I know some people in the UK who feel the same.

Cannot effectively de-Google without this.
