Mail: Make shortcuts already available when hovering with the mouse over emails in the list
The shortcuts in mail are great, but you have to click on an email to open it and then the shortcuts are available.
It would be great if hovering with the mouse over an email in the list already enables the shortcut functionality, so you can easily go through the list and just press "t" (=Trash) to delete the mail without even opening it - or "f" to forward it.Huge time saver
You already check the hover state in the mail list, because icons appear and disappear when you hover over a mail.
Just use this hover state to enable shortcuts for this. The shortcuts in mail are great, but you have to click on an email to open it and then the shortcuts are available.

Feature suggestion – Consistent DMARC/SPF warning in web and mobile versions
Hello,
I would like to report an important security concern in Proton Mail.
Currently, the web version of Proton Mail displays a warning when a message fails DMARC/SPF verification, but the mobile app (Android/iOS) does not show such information. This creates a risk that users who primarily rely on the mobile app may be unaware that a message could be forged or sent from an unauthorized server. In practice, this is a significant security issue, especially for users who are not able to manually inspect email headers.
Proposed improvement:
Implement the same DMARC/SPF failure warnings in the mobile app as in the web version.
Optionally, allow users to enable security notifications in settings, so they are warned before opening potentially suspicious emails.
This would ensure consistent phishing and spoofing protection across all Proton Mail platforms and significantly improve user safety.

Contact: We write Family name followed by given name, so please add ability to change order
I'm dissatisfied with the Contact feature's default display order, which shows given names before family names. In my cultural context, the standard notation is to write family names followed by given names, so the current requirement to place names after family names makes the interface extremely unusable.
Please allow users to choose between both the "given name-surname" and "surname-given name" formats.
As a Japanese person, I suspect this would be equally true for Chinese and Korean users as well.3 votes -

It would be nice that you support Thunderbird natively, not with Proton Bridges, maybe with a plugin
I'd like also native support for Thunderbird for Android42 votes -
Requesting read receipts in Proton Mail
Currently, read receipts must be set individually for each new email. Would it be possible to add an option in the general settings to request read receipts for all new messages?

Linux version of GUI ProtonMail Import-Export app
I would like to propose that the Linux version of the ProtonMail Import-Export app gets a GUI version like the Windows version, which seems to have become unavailable for some reason.
It simply is easier to use and also gives users the option to batch-export and import individual email folders, while the current Linux version only lets export or import all email folders.3 votes -
Email Signature for New Mail but not in Replies
It would be great to have the option to have email signatures in newly composed emails, but turn them OFF in replies.

Calendar reminders with "Urgent" option
Be able to create "urgent" reminders like the ones just introduced in the native iOS Calendar App. Very useful!:
https://www.macrumors.com/2025/11/04/ios-26-2-alarms-reminders-app/"In iOS 26.2, there's a new option to set an alarm to go off when creating a reminder in the Reminders app. When adding a reminder, selecting a time and then toggling on the "Urgent" option will cause an alarm to go off at the designated time."
"Alarms that you set in the Clock app can also be integrated into the Reminders app by allowing the app to access Alarms in the Settings app.
When a Reminder alarm activates, it displays a snooze option or a slide to stop option. If you snooze it, it will show a countdown on the Lock Screen that includes an option to complete the reminder or reschedule it. Tapping to complete the reminder opens up the Reminders app where you need to tap again.
In the Reminders section of the Settings app, you can also opt to remove the snooze option and replace it with a Complete button to immediately mark it as complete. Apple distinguishes Reminders alarms from standard alarms with a new blue color."

AppImage packages for immutable Linux distributions + Flathub
Hello!
With immutable Linux distributions gaining popularity, perhaps there's a chance you could build an AppImage versions of your applications. That way you could provide support for all distributions alike. There are also community-made wrappers for your applications on FlatHub. I believe these are not supported by you, I would appreciate you taking a stance on them. They look legitimate, as signed by "Proton AG", but could in theory compromise security of users.
Example:
https://flathub.org/en/apps/me.proton.Mail
I'd say either you provide the Flatpaks, or outright reach out to Flathub to get them removed.Kind regards

Calendar: Allow to include description in email notification
To make calendar notifications useful and actionable, they should include all relevant detail. This specifically includes the event’s description.
Right now, email notifications do not include event descriptions.
Understanding this is for security and privacy reasons even within Proton networks, please enable an option (preferably per calendar) to include descriptions, perhaps all details, in email notifications.
This would make calendar notifications actionable, allow users to decide the level of detail and privacy they need, and still recognize Proton’s privacy approach.

reconcile differences between proton contacts and google contacts
I have used the import feature to bring contacts from google contacts into proton contacts. I still need google contacts for phone calls, however. The issue is that when a contact changes, I have to update both locations.
I'd like to suggest adding a reconcile differences feature that could compare the 2 contact lists, and allow the user to merge/edit differences.

Apply actions (apply label, delete, archive) to all results
I imported a lot of mails from gmail and I would like to do some merging and reorganizing of labels.
But for this, I would need the ability to do actions (apply label, delete, archive, move to folder, etc) on all the result of a search.
Since the main criteria I would need is existing labels, I can't seem to use Sieve filter for this, so I would like to be apply to select a label or any other search and apply labels on all the results rather than page by page currently.13 votes -
horizontal calendar mode in mobile app
In the mobile app (I am using IOS) I cannot turn my phone horizontal on to view the calendar in an extended aspect ratio. This makes the week view nearly impossible to use and limits you to the 3 day view on mobile. It works on the iPad app but not on the iPhone app so this seems to be a hugely overlooked feature.

Birthdays in another colour
I see Proton now shows the birthdays of my contacts in calendar. Great!
I'd love to be able to mark these with a different color or symbol, so birthdays stand out from 'normal' appointments. E.g. in Outlook you could choose any colour you want (because the birthdays are shown as a separate calendar). Plus, they would be marked with the icon of a birthday cake.

Scan paper based event invites into Proton Calendar
In Proton calendar, a user should be able to scan any paper based event invitation (think wedding invite, graduation party notice, healthcare appointment, etc.) and automatically create a calendar event entry prepopulated with all the respective fields filled like title, time, location, etc.

Block sender without opening the email
Opening suspicious messages shouldn't be necessary to block the sender, hate doing that.
A 'block sender' button at the top would be great next to 'move to spam' and 'delete'.
