Allow customisation of Proton Calendar display (font etc) and other things - my top 5!
I think it's new, I cannot find any customisation of fonts for calendar app on iOS...
Having used CalenGoo for Google calendar, and now migrating away from Google, I can only strongly suggest to look at the depth of customisation that CalenGoo offers over even the native Google Calendar app.
Highlights for me, not exhaustive:
- customisation of font size, bold/italics etc., style, colour: important to allow more to show in the week and particular month view (my preferred view)
- display time at the start of a scheduled meeting in month view, not just 5 or 6 letters
- a proper search function (with indexing on device prior to encryption)
- general display alterations/customisation (for example, why not allow display of "August 2025" at the top, not just "August", which could be any year...)
- an easy copy/paste function for regularly recurring events where only date/time changes, not the content of the event
This is only a list of my most liked highlights.

Add "Custom" Labels for Contact Details in addition to or instead of "Others"
Most Contact apps and programs offer the ability to add emails and phone numbers to a contact with a custom label, e.g. "email for ...".
Right now Contacts can only have these labels for email:
- Email - Work - Home - Others (Basically acts as the catch-all label, which isn't useful at all)So yeah adding custom labels would greatly improve the usability of Proton Contacts

Highlight starred mails
When you add a star to your mail, it should change the background colour in the list of mails.
It should also be possible to arrange your mails so that the starred mails are on top of the list (sorted by date), and regular mails are at the bottom (also sorted by date). This would highlight the starred mails. I am not a fan of the starred mails mixed in between regular mails.

"Sender contains" filter
When I create a filter and try to use "Sender Contains", it seems proton is looking for the actual email address and not even looking at the sender's display name.
For example, I have an email from "xyz store", but the email is "mail@sendfoxmail.com". My filter says if "Sender Contains" "xyz store" then move it to "abc Folder".
However, since Proton is not looking at the Display name, it does not apply the filter.
Desired solution: Proton looks at the sender's email address AND Sender's display name.

Allow minimizing/collapsing of Proton Mail desktop app navigation bar on the left
I like using the "Column" view setting in the Proton Mail desktop application but the navigation bar on the left side of the app (where you select Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc.) encroaches on the usable viewing area when trying to view emails. I use Windows 11 and like to "snap" my email application on the left half of my screen. Allowing minimizing/collapsing of this bar (similar to how Outlook allows this) would grant additional viewing space for emails.

View Starred / Favourite Contacts
Proton Mail for Web should allow marking individual contacts as "Starred" or "Favourite".
Coinciding with that, the Contacts pane should have a "Starred" or "Favourites" tab in addition to "Contacts" and "Groups".
Although this is not a critical feature, there are already at least two good reasons for it:
All of the extra encrypted fields in Contacts makes Proton Mail a good place not just to store your e-mail contacts, but your entire address book, including phone numbers, mailing addresses, birthdates (etc). However, this leads to the addition of many seldom-used entries that one doesn't necessarily need or want to see on the main list.
If "Automatically Save Contacts" is turned ON (which seems to be the default), the "Starred / Favourites" view will remain clean. I personally turned this feature OFF because I didn't want additional automatically-added Contacts entries clogging up my address book, but would have left it enabled if the feature I'm proposing existed.
In the Proton Mail for ANDROID app: if the intention is to continue showing all contacts and groups in a single consolidated list, the starred / favourite ones could simply sort to the top.

re-send an email
When viewing a sent mail, add a item under the "..." more options called: resend. When clicking this button the composer opens with all the content (recipients, subject, body and attachments) from the previously sent mail, user can then edit anything as if it is a new mail, and send it as a new mail.

Automatic time parsing for new calendar events
When creating a new event in the calendar, any time written in the event header should automatically be put as the time for the event. The given time should then be removed from the header of the event.
Example #1: If an event is made with the header "Hairdressers 17:15" then the starting time for the event should be automatically set to 17:15 (on 24H systems) with a standard duration time of 1 hour. The header for the event in the calendar should then be just "Hairdressers" with the given starting time.
Example #2: Similarily, if an event is made with the event header "Meeting 12-14", then the event should automatically get the starting time of 12:00 and end at 14:00. The header for the event in the calendar should just be "Meeting".

ProtonMail mobile app allow attachments from other apps
As of today, it's only possible to source attachments from:
- my photo library
- take new picture
- import from...
None of these options allows me to choose from an app on my Android mobile phone. I would for example like to source pictures from my Synology Photos app.

Event cancellation and rescheduling.
When an appointment or event is cancelled or rescheduled I often need a record of the originally scheduled day and time.
At minimum I would like the ability to add strikethrough text to the event title, so that I know that the event was cancelled.
Ideally I would like a cancel button (next to the delete and edit buttons) that strikes the event title and turns off notifications, and asks if I would like to reschedule. If I reschedule, it will duplicate the original event and allow me to set a new date (and modify the other settings, if needed). This would leave the original event struck through without notifications and adds a new event at a new date and time.
Of course the implementation can vary, especially if you want to expand this for events with other participants.
Note: I primarily use the Android app so if this is available elsewhere please bring it to Android.

Add a drop-down list to select the year when creating a new event or editing an existing one
Adding an event that is far in the future is not easy in Calendar. Adding a drop-down list to select the year would be a HUGE IMPROVEMENT.
Merci!

email sweep
Microsoft's Outlook email app has a feature called "Sweep," which allows one to highlight an email, and then take action on and set up a rule for all emails from that sender.
Options include:
Move all messages from the Inbox folder
Move all messages from the Inbox folder and any future messages
Always keep the latest message and move the rest from the inbox folder
Always move messages older than ten days from the inbox folderThe default destination is "Deleted Items." Other options include:
Junk Email
Inbox
Archive
or any other folder the user chooses or creates. It is very helpful for keeping one's inbox tidy, and could possibly ease the storage requirements on the server. It greatly simplifies the task of deleting an entire class of emails.
While I appreciate Proton not wanting to overcomplicate its products, it is possible that the overhead implementing it would entail might be obviated by the savings in storage.

set time zone manually
Proton mail uses the browser time zone for all events and there is not a way to set it manually. I use Librewolf to minimize browser fingerprinting and one of it's features (which is not easy to turn off separately) is that is displays the time zone to websites as Zulu / GMT, instead of local time. This means that calendar events come in with a time shift displayed in email. They are correct in the calendar since Calendar allows you to set the time in the top bar.

Sticky behavior for tags/labels for priority sorting (e.g., in Inbox)...
Create an option to make a tag/label "sticky". Or, option to make all messages with a specific custom tag(s)/label(s) sticky in the Inbox and other folders. Starred doesn't quite do it, as you cannot set that as a sort condition. Sticky custom tag/label would be more precise and flexible than 'starred', because one might 'star' a message for multiple reasons.
And/or, option to set a tag or folder as the default view, upon application loading.
Use case: tag "needs followup" or "to do" as default view so that user sees that first thing.
Note: 'Sticking' meaning that they appear prioritized at the top of the messages list no matter the sorting setting for a particular folder.

Ability to view what core program tasks are in-process
I'm a software developer, and I think of the application of filter rules as core program in-process tasks. The filter is something user-defined, but the invocation and application of that filter is a task enacted by the actual program. Having the ability to view when a core program task is in-process would be beneficial. For example: if I import email from an unsupported client, that could be viewed as a task in an in-program task manager queue; after importing, if I create a filter to send all mail from joe@schmoe.com to my Trash folder and choose to apply it to my existing email, that would also appear in my list of in-process tasks. An MVP could be to simply see a list of program tasks being performed, and roadmap improvements could include: queueing tasks that cannot happen concurrently, like applying a filter to existing emails; the ability to pause a task from the "task manager"; a log of performed tasks that are not continuous. I don't know your architecture, but it would be nice to have.

Improve efficiency of viewing emails, better utilize dead space
On the iPad, if i have a lot of unread emails, it's a lot faster to go through them efficiently in Apple Mail than in Proton Mail because of the main screen format. 1: Showing the email list on the left side (with the option to show 2-3 lines of content), and 2: showing the selected email's full content on the right hand side, allows you to quickly see each email, then delete or move on to the next email without ever having to leave the main screen.

Search field in labels for proton mail – mobile app
When adding label(s) on a message in the Proton Mail Mobile APP (in my case iOS) it is no search field available. With many labels you have to “scroll” thru an extensive list, and would be easier if you could “drag down” in the labels-list and a search field appeared.
