  1. Calendar Integration with Other Applications

I use a 3rd-Party Calendar widget on my Windows desktop computer: Rainlendar. It integrates with Google and many other calendar systems to allow me to not only view, but add and edit events on my desktop that then synchronize automatically with the external service to show elsewhere (other computers, tablets, phones). I desperately want to switch away from Google to Proton's calendar service, but without this kind of integration and automation, I cannot.

I also have a website that needs to, in the very least, view the free/busy state of one of my calendars for public access. At this time,…

  2. Ability to copy paste and edit calendar events on Android devices

I want to be able to copy paste an event (e.g.: Doctor appointment) to a different date and create a new event with modifications.

  3. Visual indicator in calendar to distinguish meeting from event

I wish I could identify very easily, by looking at my day or my week in the calendar, which elements are meetings (with other people invited basically) and which are events or tasks I added myself to perform a specific action or project (therefore without anyother people invited).
This could also work with the invitation I receive when I acknowledge to participate.
There could be a small icon added to the entry when it is a meeting (for instance a group of people next to the time of the event : 👪).

  4. send

Ability to send-mail-as a different (non-proton) address via SMTP. Similar to what gmail has. This would encourage migration over from google for users such as me that cannot completely retire a google account (this relates to another suggestion I posted about creating a 3rd party login service).

  6. A feature that shows the number of emails in each specific folder

Could you add a feature that shows the number of emails in each specific folder?
At the moment, only the page navigation and the total storage size of my account are visible.

  10. create or edit email filters

Simplify and expand the creation and maintenance of email filters.

The current creation system is extremely limited in options, and thinking that any ordinary user is willing or able to learn some obscure scripting (sieve) language to edit email filters is ludicrous. Instead of constantly adding new applications, however cool they may be, why not add some maturity to your existing products.

As an example, I would refer you to the email filter system in Thunderbird. It's not perfect, and it doesn't incorporate all of the suggestions your users have presented, but it is far more sophisticated and less daunting…

  11. Report: Calendar Email Reminders Not Sent to Access Recipients

I am a Premium account user and have two types of calendars: personal and work. I share my work calendar with my secretary (both of us use Proton accounts). The problem arises when I create a schedule in my work calendar and activate email reminders; both notification emails only go to my account, while my secretary does not receive any notifications at all. Ideally, these email notifications should also be sent to every collaborator who has access to that calendar.

  12. hexadecimal

    Hello everyone,

Here's a suggestion for improving Proton Calendar: add the ability to choose colors for different calendars using hexadecimal codes, similar to Google Calendar.
This would provide virtually endless possibilities. When you have many calendars (e.g., work, personal, sports), you quickly run out of colors.
Being able to choose your exact color with a hexadecimal code would be a plus.
    Thanks in advance!

  13. Automatically deselect emails after a bulk action

When selecting multiple emails and performing a bulk action—such as marking them as read or moving them to a folder—the current selection is not cleared after the action. This can be confusing and counterintuitive, especially for users coming from other mail clients, where the standard UX is to automatically deselect the processed emails. Please implement an option (or default behavior) to automatically clear the selection after any bulk operation is completed. This would greatly improve the user experience and reduce the risk of accidental repeated actions.

  14. forward passmail alias to any of my protonmail alias

At the moment I seem to be able to only forward a passmail alias to the protonmail address I subscribed with. In order to better organize my passmail alias (categorize and different notification rules) I would like to be able to forward a passmail alias to any of my protonmail alias.

  15. Implement push IMAP (instant email notification)

The fetch way of retrieving emails is ancient compared to modern communication methods alternatives. Google, Yahoo! and others are using their own protocol but Push IMAP exists (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Push-IMAP).

Imagine you are a new user switching from Google to Proton, you are used to instant notifications on emails arrivals, useful for magic codes for example, it’s a huge downgrade coming to Proton Mail.

  17. Proxy in ProtonMail app for linux

It would be nice to be able to add a connection settings in the ProtonMail app whether it is on windows, Mac or Linux (but mainly in Linux because more easy to setup) to be able to connect through a proxy socks5, http, https (preferably socks5) for adding a secure link layer like going through tor. This is in the case you are already running a vpn and you (as you should) run tor or i2p inside that vpn tunnel too.
I feel more secure to use the app than to use a browser to be honest with all the…

  18. add functionality to support multi select/forward/delete email items

When working with the Proton email app in either the web-based client or desktop app it is very unfriendly to easily select multiple, individual messages with e.g. control/space/etc and then easily delete with DEL or SHIFT+DEL like working with Outlook or Gmail with just the keyboard. Additionally, it would be good to open a new compose-email in a separete window and enable dragging/dropping one or more existing email(s) into the new message to forward messages. This would be a great usability improvement.

  19. Washing Bag – What Is the Best Way to Clean Reusable Bags Safely?

I wanted to start a discussion about using a washing bag for cleaning reusable storage bags and other small household items. With more people switching to reusable options, keeping them clean and hygienic has become really important. But what is the safest and most effective way to wash them?

Do you use a washing bag inside your regular washing machine, or do you prefer handwashing? I’ve heard that placing reusable bags inside a mesh washing bag can help protect them from damage while still allowing proper water circulation. Has this worked well for you?

Another question is about water temperature.…

  20. Obsolete / Prompt setting for each email address in contacts

I would like to see a setting for each email address in the contacts, maybe it is called Email Status:
Normal - Email is used normally
Obsolete - Email is obsolete (the contact changed their email ... to proton!) but is used for identifying older emails using that address, you cannot compose a new email to that address without proton objecting.
Prompt - Email can only be used after verification by the user. For example maybe you don't want to accidentally send an email to your ex-partner or to your boss or someone you have a fraught relationship with. This…
