Make iPad Calendar app compatible with Apples app windows.
The iPad Calendar app from Proton is not compatible with the Apple iOS app windows system. Changes should be done to make it compatible.

In the desktop app I would like to be able to search within the current mail or mail conversation, without looking at other messages.

filter mail by mail type (aka protonmail or google)
I've just connected my gmail to my proton mail... It doesn't have an option to filter by where the mail came from. Please let me toggle the gmail mails in and out or even just have a separate tab. My protonmail account is very clean (no subscriptions, email lists etc) so getting all the google stuff mixed in is too much. Might have to disconnect the gmail account.

Show ONLY last used email for existing recipient
There is an existing similar request that you are asked to attach last used email address to a contact but that seem pointless as I never open "Contacts".
My request is that the "From:" address change instantly to the email addresses used for the contact as soon as you select the contact in "To:" And that must be the ONLY email address that appears. You should show "Last used" at the top, and subsequently extend the list with others used and the last line must be "Show all addresses".
If someone sent me an email and changed their from address I would think they are trying to scan me even if the name is the same and this is a fundamental failure of the system.
New email creation should be
1. user starts new email
2. list all from: addresses
3. user types/selects to: address
4. system looks up history of to: address
5. system finds last used address
6. system changes from: and shows only last used
7. system looks for other from: address linked to "to:"
8. system shows clickable "list used addresses"
9. system shows clickable "list all addresses"Of course, if this is the first time you send an email to a recipient then it just shows all with default at the top.
Simple. very simple and would make one not look like a scammer or an idiot.

Have events arrive directly in the calendar they were sent to
This seems so obvious, I am not sure why it was set up differently by design.
Nice that we can change the calendar on some events received (but not all!!!) but if I receive an event in one calendar I expect it to show in that given calendar, default colour coding included.
Some calendars might be shared, some linked to accounting etc, if an event is received by x it should show in x.
This is a big risk for privacy and business resilience as well and a big loss of time cleaning up for each event coming in one by one.

Can you make Folder Filter Quantity & Modification possible?
While your automatic setup of folder filters is very nice, I now get "too many filters" if I try to add any. Also, there seems to be no place to find and eliminate filters that are no longer needed. In Thunderbird, though I have to set up filters, I can see which are present, where they are directed, and can modify or remove them. And so far, I've never hit a 'limit'. Some kind of similar arrangement would be nice. Side note: because of 'too many filters' I now have to 'move' email manually every time, so the filtering function is no longer used, much to my chagrin.

Remove secret-service requirement from Proton Mail Bridge (Linux)
Proton Mail Bridge for Linux's requirement for a secret-service adds complexity to the installation process. Even using the
passutility as suggested, GPG also needs to be installed and a GPG key generated to initialize the password store. Removing the secret service requirement would simplify the installation, reduce the 'weight' of the installation (number of steps and installed packages), and simplify what needs to be backed up. Storing the vault key is also a security hazard as it makes the data (credentials, email messages, etc.) recoverable for anyone with the home directory or a backup of the directory.Using a KDF (e.g. Argon2, PBKDF2, etc.) would simplify and improve security, since the key is never in the server's persistent storage. There may be other cryptographic constructs with similar or additional properties.
- Use the IMAP/SMTP password as input to the KDF.
- The derived key(s) are used to encrypt messages and other private data directly, or used to wrap a data encryption key (that, in turn, encrypts the messages).
- With this change, a sync would only occur after the first IMAP or SMTP connection is established from the mail app, but most clients should either stay connected or connect relatively often. Syncs with the Proton servers could continue as long as the service is running. Or for even greater security, stop (and wipe the password/keys from memory) when the client disconnects.

One improvement I’d really like to see is better control over notifications and automatic actions. For example, users could have more granular settings for which calendar events or emails can trigger alerts, along with an easy temporary “snooze” option. A smoother connection between Mail and Calendar would also make it easier to turn an email into a reminder or calendar event without leaving the message.
I also think a cleaner way to manage links and important information from emails would improve the overall experience. I work with website content at https://thekfcmenu.com/, so I especially appreciate tools that make it easy to organize information and return to important pages without unnecessary interruptions.

Feature request: ability to change main account address
Hello,
currently, in Proton Mail, it’s not possible to delete the email address used during the registration process. It would be very useful to have the option to switch the entire account to a different primary address, and remove the original one if it’s no longer needed.
This would give users more flexibility in managing their online identity, for example when the original address becomes obsolete or no longer fits their current needs.

Setting: Automatic Outgoing Email Expiration Time
I would like the option to set a default expiration time for all outgoing emails.
While it's already possible to manually set an expiration date on individual messages, it's easy to forget to do so before sending. A global setting would allow users to automatically apply an expiration period (for example, one year) to every email they send.
Users who enable this feature could still adjust or disable the expiration time on a per-email basis when needed. This would provide a convenient privacy-focused default while maintaining flexibility for exceptions.

Support for custom Return-Path / Envelope-From in Proton SMTP
Currently, Proton SMTP requires the Return-Path (envelope sender) to match the authenticated sending address. This makes it impossible to use dedicated bounce addresses such as bounce@domain.com, which are required by many business applications, including Odoo, CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and newsletter tools.
Please add support for a custom Return-Path / envelope sender while still enforcing that the domain belongs to a verified Proton Mail domain. This would enable proper bounce processing, DMARC-compliant email workflows, and integration with common business software without requiring external SMTP relay services.
This feature would significantly improve Proton Mail's suitability as a business email platform.

I would like to be able to highlight text in an email and select "Search in Browser" or "Translate with ***" (in my case DeepL
I will often see a reference that I want to follow up on or research. I'd like to be able to highlight it and then right click to use my default browser to search online. Similarly, if I get an email with foreign text, I'd like a Translate function.

Passwords for Password-protected emails selected by recipient
Currently when sending Password-protected emails to non-proton recipients the sender has to select the password, notify the recipient of the password, and manually record the password for future correspondence. It is tedious and has two major issues.
1. The first issue is if you want to send the message to multiple people they must both have the same password.
2. If a recipient receives password-protected emails from more than one protonmail senders, they would need to track and keep a log of passwords for each and every sender.
A solution would be to have the recipient select a password to decrypt the email link and store the password on a server in the same manner that passwords are handled for any other email (proton to proton, etc).
Because the process of sending password-protect emails is tedious, it is rarely used (by me at least) and any email sent or cc'd to a recipient is on the gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc. servers in plain text where companies like google can glean the content. Furthermore in the US, Section 702 of the FISA act allows the government to gather texts and emails from overseas without a warrant. Protonmail originates from overseas (Switzerland).

It would be great if the search icon/bar could be implemented at the bottom next to the write button and not at the top right corner, such as in the iOS system like in Mail, Settings, etc.

Enhanced filter and newsletter management
Someone already suggested dynamic filter creations and it's an amazing idea. I want to expand it and suggest something similar for newsletters.
The pop-up saying "This message is from a mailing list should include 3 actions, and after one is selected, the pop-up should never appear again for that newsletter:
- Accept
- Unsubscribe
- Filter (this prompts the user to select what to do with these emails like in the filter creation flow and automatically creates a filter for the newsletter)7 votes -

The only way to disable a SMTP is to delete it.
It would be nice to have a method of temporarily disabling a token to stop its use for sending mails OR any mails received from a specific token user can be temporarily redirected into a black hole like /dev/null.
What is the need.
An application or a server that is setup to mailout with a token could go rogue and spew out a lot mails. Configuring postfix with a token on a linux box gives users freedom to do want they want with the built-in mailers like sendmail and mailx. I've seen a production system rendered useless because of mail services going rogue.When a token user goes rogue you haven't a clue where the mails are coming from. There is nothing in the mail client to monitor the actions of token users, its only for devices that use the account passwords. There is nothing in the innards of .eml file that indicates a source of the problem. The only forensics you have are the contents of the mail message and there may be no clues in them. It would be nice to have some monitoring.
If you are unsure what token is spewing out all the mails you have to delete tokens until it ceases. All deleted tokens require all the apps to be reconfigured with new tokens. Not a good idea in a commercial environment.
