  2. Allow Dynamic BCC insertion for CRMs

A feature that exists in Gmail and others is the ability to add a dynamic BCC address to emails. While there may be various reasons for doing so the use case cited most often is to log the communication into a CRM system.

I use a CRM to track certain communication and often am adding the CRM into the BCC line to ensure the communication gets logged properly. Since this requires memory I know that I and others consistently forget to BCC the CRM on important client emails.

Without this feature Proton is unreliable for business use since I have…

  4. Security: Ability to separate the login address from the default sending address

For greater security and to minimize hacking, I would like the login email address to remain as secret as possible, and therefore used as little as possible, so that it is reserved for login purposes and not used for other communications.
Therefore: be able to separate the main login address from the default message sending address.
    Thanks

  5. Automatic deletion of emails for specific labels after a certain amount of time

I need to schedule automatic deletion of emails (like for instance emails older than 30 days, 3 months, etc.) when having a specific label.
The reason is that I receive on a daily basis 100 to 200 automated emails that I need to store for some time, but I would like to have them deleted after a certain period of time, instead of doing it manually.

  7. Ability to hide folders

Sometimes there are emails that you don’t others to see if another person gains access to your account or device. It would be great to have a feature to hide and password protect folders in mail or the ability to archive/hide emails in proton drive. Just more privacy options for emails.

  8. Month view should have times visible

The month view in proton calendar shows events for each day, which is cool, but it would be cool if I could see when events start each day.

Business Calendar Pro has this option. It compresses the time, so for example for an event starting 12:00, it shows "12 Workout". For an event starting 15:30, it shows "15:30 Meeting".

These fit in the tiny day and they add much more information, because I can easily see if I have morning free for example, when first event is at noon. I don't have to click at events.

  9. Support older MacOS versions (e.g. Mojave 10.14.6)

Is it possible to support older OS versions with a desktop app? Even a reduced feature set would be fine.

My OS version is MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for several reasons (stability, performance, etc.).

I still like the convenience of a desktop app to handle my various email addresses for quick access (versus web interface).

  10. Hard wrap lines at custom widths

When writing plain text email, I typically want (or sometimes need) to enforce a maximum line length/column width in my email to ensure it is easily readable. Most commonly this is 72-80 columns, but can occasionally vary to 100-120 columns. To my knowledge, Proton Mail doesn't provide a way to hard wrap lines in this manner. So I currently have to write these emails in a separate text editor which does hard wrap lines before copy-pasting it into Proton Mail.

This is obviously quite tedious, and it would be a lot easier if Proton Mail included this feature. Perhaps there…

  11. A "sticky note" option for mail that is tagged "To Do"

I love the folder system on Protonmail and make good use of it. I also love the label system. Often, I will label an incoming e-mail "TO DO" and then slide it into a folder I've created. Could you consider a feature that allows the user to "place a sticky note" (so to speak) on an e-mail where they can jot something down that reminds them what they need to do next with that e-mail??

I picture opening my "TO DO" (labeled) e-mails one by one and, as I do, the "sticky note" reminds me what it was that I…

  12. Weekdays view

Include a 5-day/weekdays view on Calendar app for iOS. Sometimes the weekends just take valuable screen real state for what we are looking at.

  14. Tokenised, deterministic, LLM powered Inbox Triage

I'm concerned that the privacy-first nature of proton will cause it to lag behind privacy-backward competitors and create relative friction in the UX which becomes a real burden.

With a secure LLM operating on your own servers this doesn't have to be the case.

You guys could implement a sufficiently constrained implementation with your in-house LLM which can pre-emptively offer very smart AI actions for those of us who don't mind it running on your servers (this is a compromise I'd be willing to make for the functionality, and lesser functionality could be offered to those who aren't).

    I'm imagining…

  15. Be able to use "hide-my-email" of proton pass into proton mail in the "sender" dropdown

In "proton pass", when we create a hide-my-mail, I would like to be able to make a mail with "Proton Mail" in the senders dropdown...
Actually when we create one "hide-my-mail", we have to wait someone to mail to this alias, which then allow us to use the alias.
I'd be cool if all the created aliases in "proton pass" could be available in the list of senders in "proton mail" as soon as a hide-my-mail would be created.

  16. always label senders emails to phone support

Add "always label senders emails" option to the iphone/android apps. I am really trying hard to keep my new inbox organized but having to go to the computer application to label emails isn't a good option. Adding this to the phone app would be excellent.

  17. Prompt with frequently used folders for moving emails

When the user chooses to move a message to a folder, all of the folders appear, starting at the top. It would be useful to have an option to move to, like outlook, one of the most recent, say, dozen folders, or to the most frequently used folders, and then to choose another if the folder being sought is not on that shorter list. Also it would be good if one could collapse subfolders into the parent folder when choosing where to move a message, as that would shorten the list.

  18. Proton Calendar: Travel Time for Events

Allow users to define optional travel time before and after an event. These times are shown as blocked in the calendar, while the core event duration remains unchanged. The calendar then reflects the true time commitment of the event.

  19. Linux Window Snapping / Tiling

Feature to drag the Proton Mail application to the left/right edge of the screen to adjust the size (just like with other apps).

In the Fedora GUI, the app has this feature for the top edge (full screen), but not for the side edges (half screen size).

  20. Collapsible replies within an existing message

Current email messages that are replies of replies of replies are well organized in threads, however the email message itself is extremely long and having to scroll through the messages within a thread defeats the purpose if we are unable to see just the message and not the quoted text.

It would be great if you can collapse the quoted text. That's the feature request. Nothing crazy, just a way to hide sections of the email that are redundant and not useful (since the thread actually exists).
