Shared inbox
Non-personal, shared (aka functional) mailboxes are commonplace in businesses - a central mailbox for a particular purpose accessible by multiple users. A similar need is also common for personal use (e.g. each spouse has their own personal mailbox, but also have a shared address for things like bills or school notifications)
1) Best option would be to allow an address to be created and assigned to multiple users within a ProtonMail Organization. That avoids forwarding of emails and also avoids having to log out of one ProtonMail user and then log into another user in order to check the shared addresses.
2) A potentially easier alternative would be to allow simultaneous login to multiple users via the Protonmail client. Thus you could login to each user account once and easily toggle between personal vs. shared mailboxes.
3) In the meantime, could you at least add an additional Action to the Filtering function that would allow you to auto-forward an incoming email if it met the defined conditions. This is not ideal as it essentially duplicates the data and the "other" user won't have replies in their Sent folder, etc. It's messy but better than nothing.
Thanks

Like others commented before, this is a MUST. It's quite a standard use-case nowadays and I was really surprised this was not present. I would hate to move away again from Proton, but without this feature it becomes a hassle to deal with it.

It seems crazy that shared email is not available with plans that offer shared drive folders, shared calendars. If I'd known that this wasn't an option, I wouldn't have paid for Proton Duo.

It should be possible to set up an email address that is shared between users on a paid or duo plan. It could be that an email can be sent to every user in the family group/organisation but it would be even better if we could set up custom email addresses that would be received by specified users. While forwarding is an intermediate fix, it doesn't permit replies to the original email address.

We need to move out of Microsoft 365. Lots of EU compagnies need to do it. But no way if shared mailboxes aren’t available. That’s a MUST. Should be on top of priorities if Proton wants to be successful and credible on the business market.

So, after SO MANY years, still nothing? I mean, the use-case is crazy big for every family or small business that wants to switch to Proton. I have switched my family from a Yahoo service and one of the pains I have is a shared email address for "family"... So, we need to open a stupid and less secure email account on another platform, just to be able to have shared addresses within a family? I call this how it is: STUPID. To say the least.

Add the capability to assign an address to more than one user in a business account.
This would be especially helpful for shared access to generic "info@" (or similar) mailboxes, to ensure complete coverage/quick response times. The access should enable full read/write/send as the address, i.e., the same effect cannot be achieved with a filter/auto-forward.

This is very much needed for business use cases such as support@ mailboxes.

Again, really important for business-use cases where multiple users might require access to a specific mailbox. I know it's (a bit of) a headache with the pgp keys to make it work well when someone gets revoked, but this is one of those features Exchange users expect.

Yes, this is 100% critical feature. I will cancel the family plan if this isn't a feature in the near future.

I fully agree to the statement of Dk. We're considering to use Proton for our business, but currently are stay with mailbox.org, because they're offering this feature. But everything else is great at Proton, but this important feature is missing for businesses... but even for families.
If at least someone of the Proton team can give an update if it is worth to wait or not.

Proton, I see this request has been going on for 6+ years. Is it possible Proton could kindly respond in any way whether they are:-
1/ Not going ahead with this idea.
2. Considering it.
3. Not feasible.I appreciate your busy, but there are a lot of ideas being posted, some of which have been completed but not updated on here. A lot do not get a response. Could we get some feedback, even if its not the news we want to hear?
Many posters are reluctant to moving over to Protonmail until certain features exist within the eco system.
There are a lot of duplicated posts that could be recategorized.
Currently looking at the comments there is very little feedback to members posts on here.
As always keep up the great work. I appreciate that we do not get to see behind the scenes, where simple ideas might take a lot more planning to ensure security/privacy.
Thanks.DK

Tuta mail has this, come on proton. Even if we have to pay for this make it a feature. We all have joint emails at home for bills etc people saying this exists for visionary plans and family plans, why not duo? Come on Protonmail, make it happen
