Attach files to calendar event
Attaching files from proton drive to the calendar event.
Robust options in calendar event that integrate any calendar event with proton ecosystem services.
The calendar should work as a calendar based planner with options to:
- Create tasks, assign tasks
- Group tasks to projects
- Attach files to tasks, events, projects

So many friends send images or pdfs with event info and I can't just copy and paste the details of the event. I have to transcribe it without this feature.

I see this is missing, and am that much closer to going back to gcal. I pay, btw

This is incredibly useful. For example, one obvious use case is including the ticket(s) to events directly in the event. Another option could be linking an event to an email from the inbox.

It's incredible Drive and Calendar are not integrated and the idea was reported in 2021. This shows how Proton works as a company. New products at all costs, no love for the basics.

Seconding this. Use-cases I had in mind are as follows.
I often sort out tasks I have to, or want to take in the future. I then create a calendar-item as a reminder to ensure I actually sort them out.
Would be great to link to a Proton Drive document either pre-existing, or create a new one for this calendar-item.Note-taking during meetings is also a great example. Link a default document to the calendar-item and easily look up notes of past meetings, or write new ones for the current meeting. I don't do this currently due to the lack of integration, but in the past I've used Proton drive documents to write down notes of a meeting.

Being able to attach things such as pdf's of tickets to the calendar is for me critical and I won't be using it until it has this facility.

That would be really helpful! Even just linking an email received or an attachment from Proton Drive would be useful.

This missing functionality is one of those which makes Proton suite unusable in a professional environment, esp. as a secured emergency communication system (in case of cyber crisis). I highly regret the absence of basic/core functionalities such as this one, aside useless bells and whistles.

I'm taking my wife to the theatre next month, so I created an event with all the details — address, time, etc. I would have loved to be able to add the theatre tickets as an attachment, since they are often PDF files with QR codes or barcodes.

A simple thing as saving tickets to a concert in the calendar and they pop up when you need them.

It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to attach files directly from Proton Drive to events within Proton Calendar. For example, when scheduling a job interview or meeting, I should be able to link relevant documents, such as my resume or cover letter, directly from Proton Drive.
How it would work:
- Users can attach files directly from their Proton Drive to calendar events.
- Files remain stored in Proton Drive, with no need to upload or manage them separately within the calendar.
- The attached file would appear as a link within the event details, making it easy to access relevant documents for the event.

Totally agree that this functionality needs to be added.
Workaround for now:
Upload a file to Proton Drive, create a link and paste it into the calendar entry. PDF and JPG tested and is opened in a browser upon click on the link, no login required. -

Great idea and the closest existing I have identified so far for a better integration :
In a Calendar event, I would like to attach (or link to) a photo or a document (in the Drive / Docs), relevant to the event. I'd like to have some minimal formatting options in the description too. That will make for a better integration and a great time-saver.
Also, it would be awesome to have some sort of a visual index / identifier for the events ! Imagine a small logo, a thumbnail photo or document preview shown as part of a/the quick summary look-up when hovering over an event. -

Adding my voice to this one. Trying to leave iCloud calendar, and I often add a picture or a PDF to calendar events on that solution. Typical use case 1: Kid comes home from school with paper birthday invitation. I add it to the calendar, and take a picture of the invitation that I add to the calendar event. Typical use case 2: I buy concert tickets months ahead of the concert, and receive the tickets as PDFs with a QR code in a mail. I add the concert to the calendar as an event, and attach the PDF so I'll have the ticket/QR code handy when I'm in queue for the concert.

Yep, looking for this too. If Apple Calendar and Outlook have this I feel like this needs to be a feature if users from those platforms are looking for something better than those options.

This is actually several different suggestions. Can we treat it as the one in the headline, i.e. "attach files to calendar event"? That's what I'm voting for.

Came here to ask for attachments to calendar events, as this is a feature in Outlook for instance, that I regularly make use of and really miss in Proton Cal.
Have to say, i fully support all 3 of OP's suggestions above though :)
