Show all sub-folder Mails when clicking on parent-folder
When creating several parent-folders, each with several sub-folders for Mails, It would be a nice feature to see ALL sub-folder-Mails when clicking on a parent folder. Now, if you wanna see a new Mail you have to dive in the specific folder to be able to see it.

Feature Request: Folder Aggregation / Roll-up Views for Nested Folders
Hello Proton Team,One challenge with the current folder system is that parent folders do not show the combined contents of their subfolders. For example, emails in subfolders A/q and A/r are only visible when opening those subfolders, but not when selecting the top-level folder A. This forces users to browse multiple folders separately.
Suggested feature:
Provide an option for users to enable automatic aggregation (“roll-up”) of emails from all immediate and nested subfolders into the parent folder’s view.
This would create a consolidated, unified inbox-like listing for the parent folder, while preserving the folder hierarchy for organization.
Allow toggling aggregation on or off per folder, to suit different user preferences and workflows.
Such a feature would simplify navigation, reduce extra clicks, and make managing emails across folder hierarchies much more intuitive and efficient.
Thank you for considering this useful addition!

I would love this to be an option too. I have been trying to work both with folders and labels, but the mix doesn't really work for me.

Hello,
I would really love to be able to show all subfolders content when clicking their parent folder.
I'm using folders for each domain i manage, and then subfolders for different emails purposes. But i would like to have the possibility for viewing all emails of the domain at once.
I understand some may not like this behaviour, so this should be an option on the parent folder itself. -

Yes i would love to have such a feature, maybe as an option for those who don't want this behaviour

could be done as a setting (so the user can decide how they want to organize their emails)

crazy idea, but how about only showing mails of the sub folders in the parent folder when it’s collapsed and keep them separate if the folders are visible?

...and show sub-folder name as an additional column to see where the emails are stored...

Tagging solves this

How do you propose to resolve the fact that said parent folders can themselves have their own set of emails contained therein? It will result in this huge mess of emails in the list.
This should really be implemented on a search level. The way it is being proposed in this question would be too much effort to work around the huge can of worms this could open for what is of relatively little benefit.
