Set as default calendar on mobile
Android doesn't allow me to set the default Calendar app to Proton Calendar, only the stock Calendar or Outlook
This has been introduced with the newest update on the Proton Calendar app for Android.
For those wondering about iOS: this isn't something we can support there right now. Apple doesn't allow setting a default calendar app or handling these types of links the same way (unlike email apps). We've looked into possible workarounds, but they would compromise the privacy guarantees we aim to provide, so we've chosen not to go that route. We've also asked Apple to open this up to apps like Proton Calendar and will keep pushing on it.
Thank you for understanding!

What version number of the app will have this ability and when will it be released? I have version 2.31.1 (347) updated on April 16th and I still am not able to set it as default.

If google is still actively blocking proton from doing this on Android phones, please sue them.

This is a critical feature. Not only is it time-consuming, it's easy to accidentally enter a wrong detail. I end up needing to add to my google calendar and sync from there, or just use my work (outlook) calendar and let my employer see my personal events.

Seems to me this is an Android function not available to Proton, or anyone else for that matter, since Android doesn't let you specify a default calendar. Not sure what Proton could do about it.

this capability should be added to both Android and iOS.

This is a recurring annoyance. Many different apps have "Add to calendar" functionality, but without Proton supporting it, it is basically useless.

// mandatory pre-requisite for secure plattform switch
As long as I am not able to switch the default calendar App in iOS, "Proton Calendar" is useless for me to switch - I imported a year ago all iCloud synced "Calendar" App and its sub-calendar items which worked good, with some exeptions for special bookings.
> whithout "Proton Calendar" as default App, not intermediate bookings from other Apps like e.g. SBB-timetable / ticketing-App are allowed ....
I was very astonished finding out and investigating about this limitation !But confident supporter and user of: "Proton VPN" / "Proton Mail" (and Mailbridge on some nodes) / "Proton Pass" / "Proton Authenticator" (since it has been splittet from ProtonPass).

I add events regularly and hate having to manually enter the event because I can't default to Proton. Would also love to somehow see this on Windows PC as well.
