Stand alone contacts
I would like to have Proton Contacts as my default on our Android phones. I need to open Google contacts to make a call unless I port all my Proton contacts to Google. I'm don't wish to give Google my entire contacts list.

I want to use Proton contacts as my default contacts on Android (and or iOS) just like iCloud and Google. Please please develop this.

It's understandable to want more privacy and avoid sharing your contacts with Google. Hopefully, Proton can offer a standalone solution soon. Meanwhile, take a break and enjoy the thrill of motorcycle stunts with Soflo Wheelie Life . https://www.soflo-wheelie-life.io/

I want to leave Google Contacts and be able to have a cloud saved contacts list that I can easily use with iPhone and Android.

it would be good to have this for IOS to replace Apple's offering. If you have a lot of labels (as I do) scrolling down to the bottom of the IOS app to get to contacts is overly time-consuming and a faff.

For me it is not critical that it is a stand alone feature, but better contact management is the main thing missing from the Proton suit. The contacts need to integrate better into the email client, be more flexible, and preferably work as a replacement of keeping contacts on my phone (synced with google, not a fan of that...).

This is my biggest need from Proton. Having to run multiple contacts lists in parallel is not viable. But today Proton needs its own list, and my phone needs its own list.

This is an essential feature.

Hate the idea of giving G my contact's info so unless I know someone's number by heart, I have to look them up in Proton Contacts to make/return a call.

Agree with other people commenting on this suggestion --
I too have a confusing mix of Proton and Google apps that I must switch between on my phone (AND TABLET)
I too want to LEAVE THE GOOGLE UNIVERSE.
Does anyone hear Proton-based system like Android, iOS like I do, calling for us to leave the surveillence, datamining system completely behind? -

iOS here. And yes this is very much needed. I don’t want to share my contacts to Apple. I know Proton Mail has a contact upload option but it is primitive. It also doesn’t allow a mass download after reinstalling iOS.

This would be of benefit on iOS as well.

A contacts app for Android and Windows is an essential part of one's digital life. I currently operat a confusing mix of Google and Proton; clumsy and error prone. And I want to drop Google altogether!

Sorry to inform you that this has been a feature request since at least 2017 - https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/32521357-sync-contacts-with-phone-address-book

This also includes a standalone webapp, like a contacts.protonmail.com inspired on contacts.google.com… or I should create a new feature request?

(perhaps this was meant by @Kevin Moore) i'd add that syncing alias contacts would be incredible!
e.g., suppose i create a contact on an `fancyalias@<aliasdomain>`, being able to retrieve this alias and manipulate it within Proton Mail's contacts (and elsewhere) would be amazing.

With the additional categories (notes, cards, identity, etc.), it seems a natural addition to include the ability to sync contacts securely on Pass. Would love to see the capability for accessing and inserting (into web forms) contacts right from Proton Pass.

I use protonmail plus google voice and google phone on Android, I would like to only maintain ONE contacts list. It would be ideal if proton mail could be configured to use google contacts directly rather than a stale import from google contacts.
Alternatively, if it could be configured to periodic smart sync with google contacts, that would also address this use case, which I imagine is fairly common.
