Stand alone contacts
I would like to have Proton Contacts as my default on our Android phones. I need to open Google contacts to make a call unless I port all my Proton contacts to Google. I'm don't wish to give Google my entire contacts list.

This would be of benefit on iOS as well.

A contacts app for Android and Windows is an essential part of one's digital life. I currently operat a confusing mix of Google and Proton; clumsy and error prone. And I want to drop Google altogether!

i miss this feature especially because everytime i switch phones i loose the contact pictures :(
would be super cool to be able to sync normal contacts via proton. i have never used the email contact thing in my live. who has email contacts? (except maybe for professional usecases) -

Sorry to inform you that this has been a feature request since at least 2017 - https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/32521357-sync-contacts-with-phone-address-book

This also includes a standalone webapp, like a contacts.protonmail.com inspired on contacts.google.com… or I should create a new feature request?

(perhaps this was meant by @Kevin Moore) i'd add that syncing alias contacts would be incredible!
e.g., suppose i create a contact on an `fancyalias@<aliasdomain>`, being able to retrieve this alias and manipulate it within Proton Mail's contacts (and elsewhere) would be amazing.

With the additional categories (notes, cards, identity, etc.), it seems a natural addition to include the ability to sync contacts securely on Pass. Would love to see the capability for accessing and inserting (into web forms) contacts right from Proton Pass.

I use protonmail plus google voice and google phone on Android, I would like to only maintain ONE contacts list. It would be ideal if proton mail could be configured to use google contacts directly rather than a stale import from google contacts.
Alternatively, if it could be configured to periodic smart sync with google contacts, that would also address this use case, which I imagine is fairly common.

I am interested, but not enough to vote yet. I like 3, although any Proton app would be fine with me. I was thinking about finding a new phone contacts app on my phone to protect everyone's privacy, but I realized I didn't trust any. Additionally, I don't really know how my phone works with contacts (Android). Does google hoover them anyway? I've turned off contacts back up and photos back up. Obviously trying to de-google. Upon accidentally making an overseas call when I thought I was using Signal, I deleted every single contacts in my phone's contacts and added the ones I wanted to keep to hardcopy and the ones I'd mostly likely need to proton contacts in the mail app. So I'm no longer relying on backup, which might be cumbersome later. It did help me realize that contacts are not so important.

Global Contacts in Proton Pass:
A roadmap to enable Global (persistent and the same across products) Contacts...1. Create a new "item" type in Proton Pass - "Contacts"
2. Create name, address, birth day, etc. be sub-fields.
3. Create a "visible in Pass only" feature for "Contacts"
4. In Proton Mail and Pass Settings create a feature to toggle on contact sharing with Proton Pass - this auto-populates Mail contacts to the "Contacts" section of Pass
5. Allow for non-"visible in Pass only" Contacts to be searchable for sharing Calendars and Drive
4. Allow for Calendar and DrivePersonally I would be happy with just 1 and 2 for now! Would be more on par with other Password management software. Thank you! Keep up the phenomenal work!
