Hey everyone — if you're like me, you've been waiting way too long for proper Android integration. All I want is to use my Proton contacts and calendars with whatever app I choose — Google Contacts, Samsung Calendar, Business Calendar, you name it.
After years of hoping this would finally land, I got fed up and built my own solution: a sync provider that hooks into the public Proton API and makes your contacts and calendars available to any Android app via the standard system sync framework.
It's still in closed alpha, but it's working and I'm looking for testers who want to try it out. You can check out what it does here: https://apps.olausson.de/#sync-provider
If you're interested in testing, drop me a line at app+closedsynctest@olausson.de and I'll get you set up.

Hey everyone — I'm one of you. Paying Proton customer, 5,100+ votes on this thread, request open since 2017, and we're still stuck without native contact and calendar sync on Android.
Like many of you, I was still tied to Google Contacts and Google Calendar just because Proton won't integrate with the OS. New phone? Hope you backed up manually. Want to see a caller's name? Get calendar invites and auto-add to your calendar?
I saw JB's comment here about being a developer and looking for an API — that resonated, because I'm in the same boat. I went ahead and actually built it. I wrote a sync provider that uses the public Proton API to push your Proton contacts and calendars into Android's native sync framework. That means Samsung Contacts, Google Calendar, Business Calendar, Nine, or whatever app you prefer — they all just work with your Proton data.
It's currently in closed alpha testing and I'm looking for fellow frustrated Proton users to help me test it.
If you're interested, check it out here: https://apps.olausson.de/#sync-provider
And drop me a line at app+closedsynctest@olausson.de to join the test.
