I'd love to have a Task/ to-do app that integrates into the Calendar app as task feature. Similarly, Google Tasks integrates with the calendar.

Check boxes would be amazing. I use proton calendar for all of my to do lists.

A dumb idea just came to my mind.
Maybe if it was possible to create an event with no specified time (just a date), that would actually make that event a task?

That way one could keep all kinds of 'reminder' type of things in a single app, which might be pretty convenient.
Is that even possible from coding perspective?

This is an absolute MUST for me. My current workflow heavily relies on gcal utilizing both the traditional calendar aspects as well as the integrated tasks feature. Similar to how Google Tasks integrates into the calendar, it would be a big help to have to-do-list functionality baked into the calendar app as an intermediate step on the way to a fully fledged out calendar app (Like Todoist).

Would love to see this along with a widget for phone that displayed tasks like a list. Currently using the calendar widget and making things I need to do "All day" events so they stay on the widget view until I edit the time to when I complete them. Very manual, and would love to see tasks similar to what Google has!

To better compete with Google calendar, please add a ToDo or Task feature. The last time I saw this mentioned was in a 2022 post for PM.

I literally have little other use for Proton Calendar without this feature. Also it would be cool if the color of the day could be customized if the tasks are completed (or not). For example, task: do 10 pull-ups from date x to date y, and if completed it adds a green dot when the task is checked off. Something like that. So I could do something like the idea of 'don't break the chain' for changing/improving habits.

Proton also promised in a November 2022 blog post this "key" feature was coming soon and then promptly ignored it to launch new products.

Whether it's in the form of Google Tasks (calendar-based) or MS Outlooks Flags (email-based), this has been an obvious ask for almost a decade now.

I know they claim each product has its own team, but the glacial pace of development suggests otherwise. Like what's even the point of having a user voice portal when you're just gonna ignore the user's voice?

I agree with Blah, tasks and Calendar Events serve two different purposes.

Proton Tasks with ToDoist functionality would add major value to the proton suite. Task databases are equally if not more important than calendars for privacy and security.

Competing with ToDoist is quite a challenge though, but seeing Proton Pass develop, I believe it is possible.

I am a 'Newbe' and a senior and an average user of email, calendars, and to do list. I also favor a Proton task & to do list. I have been a “temporary” user of Yahoo mail for some time and am really done with these browser-based emails. I did a thorough comparison of the various email programs and decided Proton was the best of the lot even though it did not include a to do list.

I hope Proton keeps in mind while designing this product, it needs to create the product that appeals to both the average user and the power user.

For me, Google's task feature is invaluable, as if I do not mark a task complete, it stays in my current day pane until I mark it complete. This means if I don't do a task at the appointed time and date, it stays visible every day until I do. With Proton, an item not completed slides into the past and gets forgotten. Tasks is the only reason I continue to use Google.

This is VERY important for me. If we get this this will satisfy all my needs.
