This article was posted April 10th of 2024. Well over a year ago... What's the hold up on bringing Standard Notes into the Proton suite?

@Hugo,
I keep wondering that myself.

I agree @tekton. You would think a "Suite" would come with a Reminders/Tasks app. It's critical.

Needs to be a standalone app, with more dedication as a word processor.

I’ve been a paid customer of Proton’s business plan since 2018. Over the past two years, it’s become increasingly evident that Proton is indifferent to customer requests and simply acts according to its own whims. I’ve meticulously reviewed all the customer requests posted on this forum, yet their wishes are consistently ignored. It’s disheartening to witness this, especially considering that the customers are all eager to see Proton succeed in its endeavors.

At the time of this post (7/31/2025) Proton has released three apps paying customers did not ask for. Wallet, Lumo, and Authenticator. Then to make matters worse, despite being well over a year now at the time of their announcement, we still don't know what's going on with Standards Notes. But I digress...
The lack of a Tasks/To-Do List app is approaching the realm of absurdity. Personally, Proton is beginning to shake my confidence. Especially since they say they're led by what the customer wants. Being a paid Proton Business customer since 2018, I find this to be disheartening.

@Roger Guess Jr
Agreed, it cannot be called a "suite" without having one. At this point, it is unacceptable.

It’s hard to call it a “Suite” without a Reminders/Task Manager.

Agreed, one can technically not call itself a "Suite" unless you have a Tasks/Reminders and a Notes app.
Yes, I'm aware of Documents within Proton Drive, but that doesn't count.

I agree with you Paul.
I believe Proton misrepresented themselves when they initially announced their "joining forces" with Standard Notes. Then on 12 December (One week ago as of today) they put this out on X.

As a paying business customer since 2018 and someone who's followed Proton's progress as well as listened to Andy Yen say time after time that Proton is a customer led company, having no shareholders to answer to. Only to then watch them offer products I'm not seeing people ask for is disheartening.
Paul, you're right. I also have the professional tier of Notesnook, and it is superior to Standard Notes.
