Import PGP keys of contacts from public key servers
While we can import other people's public keys manually, it would be much less hassle to just import them from public key servers if they have a key listed in one. Just searching them for the mail address shouldn't be hard to implement, and from that point on it'd be the same as if the key was attached to the mail (asking wether the key should be trusted, then import)

Create a PIN-code for the application in Windows!
Be sure to create a PIN-code for the application in Windows! Otherwise, what's the point of all your privacy? If anyone can walk into a computer's workstation when a user is gone and gain full access to their email proton !

Show All Participants in Conversation List
Currently, only the last sender is displayed in the inbox. However, when I am the last sender, the conversation appears without any visible sender, making it harder to identify the other participant(s) at a glance.
Could you consider showing all participants in the conversation list, even when I am the last sender? This would make it much easier to track conversations, especially in busy inboxes.2 votes -
Minimal FCM notification payloads on Android
I’d like to suggest a privacy-related feature for Proton Mail on Android regarding push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
While I understand FCM is required for timely notifications and message content remains end-to-end encrypted, notification payloads are still visible to Google’s infrastructure. Currently, these payloads may include metadata such as sender or subject, even when Android system settings hide notification content.
Feature request:
Please consider adding an app-level setting that lets users choose how much information is included in FCM notification payloads, for example:Full notification (current behavior)
Minimal notification (“You have a new message,” no sender/subject/metadata)

Desktop: replace "X more" by visual indicator (like in Android)
In Monthly view, when all events cannot be displayed on a given day (say there is 3 more), a "3 more" link appears.
On Android, instead, a visual miniature indicator appears such that it shows the event without the text.It should be the same on the desktop app, especially since the information density is very low (with the default font size and without fullscreen mode, I can only display one event per day on my laptop).

conversation thread
could we have a way to follow thread that makes the multi-persons conversation obvious with some indentation? I found the present all in the same group confusing. I had to revert back to Thunderbird to have a clear idea of who answered to whom.

Allow additional (family-)users to add new email addresses without being admin.
Having a family subscription and my family members ask me to create new addresses, because they cannot do that themselves. So now I've changed them all to "admin" because I don't want to deal with their email addresses.
But now they can also add new users and delete existing ones - the can even remove me, the primary admin! That really doesn't seem to the right way to do user authorization.
Please add an "Allow address creation" checkbox next to the "Admin" checkbox in the user popup. That would really solve a problem.

Link confirmation: option to disable warnings per domain
When clicking a link, a window appears saying:
“Link confirmation
You are about to open your default browser and visit: URL”There is a checkbox “don’t show again”. Please add another option like “don’t show again for this second-level domain”.
There are many trusted websites where I don’t want to see this confirmation every time, and at the same time there are many unknown or suspicious sites where I do want to keep seeing the warning. Having per-domain control would make this much more convenient and useful.

Search function in Newsletters
I use the Newsletters feature and have over 300 active newsletters that are listed. When looking to make a change it would be helpful to have a search function to easily find a particular newsletter.

Allow selection not save in sent messages with SMTP token
When you have example network printer/scanner and you are using you email as a sending account using SMTP token, allow make selection that sent email is not saved to users sent items. When I scan a document and send to myself using email that is a duplicate on my mail account.

Enable Ability to Filter Archived Emails In/Out when in All Mail View
Many Proton users rely on All Mail to see everything at once, but archived messages quickly clutter the view and make it harder to find recent or active emails. A simple toggle to include or exclude archived emails—especially in All Mail—would make navigation much cleaner and more efficient.
If this would help your workflow too, please vote for this feature so Proton’s developers can consider adding it.
Thanks to the Proton developers for taking community feedback seriously and continually improving the platform. Many of the user ideas have been implemented and made it easier to use Proton Mail.

Remove the name from “from” field
The app or your webapp should not have to include the name of the account. Tuta clearly does not need it to work or any IMAP privacy oriented provider.
Or there is no need to have the capability to create alias if there will be the name of your account printed out in the from field.
So please just make a way to change the name of account to nothing so we can also use other mail forwarding system like addy2 votes -
New alias domains
I attempted to make an account with New York Times on 6/3/2026 using a Proton alias with domain passmail.net and was told to "enter a valid email address". I think the domain is now possibly being added to blacklists. This is the first time I have encountered the issue.
It may help if Proton would once in a while add a new domain for aliases that we could use as a backup. As time goes on, "passmail.net" may be added to more and more blacklists, rendering the alias feature non-functional.

I love the Gmail connection you just rolled out May 2026 but it was very hard for me to find where it is / understand what button I should hit to make it work

Search field in labels for proton mail – mobile app
When adding label(s) on a message in the Proton Mail Mobile APP (in my case iOS) it is no search field available. With many labels you have to “scroll” thru an extensive list, and would be easier if you could “drag down” in the labels-list and a search field appeared.

Allow filters to work with simply the domain of the email address
I've tried this but it simply does not catch the emails in question. Please make it work, it would drastically reduce the number of filters we need, thanks!

Make iPad Calendar app compatible with Apples app windows.
The iPad Calendar app from Proton is not compatible with the Apple iOS app windows system. Changes should be done to make it compatible.

filter mail by mail type (aka protonmail or google)
I've just connected my gmail to my proton mail... It doesn't have an option to filter by where the mail came from. Please let me toggle the gmail mails in and out or even just have a separate tab. My protonmail account is very clean (no subscriptions, email lists etc) so getting all the google stuff mixed in is too much. Might have to disconnect the gmail account.

Have events arrive directly in the calendar they were sent to
This seems so obvious, I am not sure why it was set up differently by design.
Nice that we can change the calendar on some events received (but not all!!!) but if I receive an event in one calendar I expect it to show in that given calendar, default colour coding included.
Some calendars might be shared, some linked to accounting etc, if an event is received by x it should show in x.
This is a big risk for privacy and business resilience as well and a big loss of time cleaning up for each event coming in one…
