Mobile App PIN lock
It would be nice to see an option on the mobile app (I use android personally) to set a PIN lock on using the app with a timeout feature. This way you may have the app remember your more complicated credentials (password and mailbox pass-phrase) but the app itself would need a 4 digit pin to view the contents. this way in the event you let a friend use your phone for a minute or so..or even have a nosy someone in their life, you can secure the app without having to type in the long complicated passwords each time.

Allow Protonmail app to be setup as an ios14 default mail client
With the new guidelines apple set forth for default email client on the new ios14, would protonmail be capable of being the default client?
Would love to have this as a thing.

Hotkeys for Navigating Emails, Starting Emails, and Moving Between Folders
In Gmail, one can use hotkeys to navigate through emails, start email compositions, move between folders, and many other things. I rarely use the mouse when working in Gmail. I would very much like the same functionality here.
A complete list of Gmail hotkeys can be found here: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6594?hl=en

Aliases to separate inboxes / folders
Let's say you use a number of different E-Mails. Some you only use for websites where you expect spam. Some for websites which still send promotions and the like, but which you generally trust. Another alias might be your personal E-Mail address that you hand out to friends.
Fortunately, Protonmail offers the alias functionality, but right now, everything is dumped into the same inbox.
Now, I have seen lots of requests for folders (sorry, but labels are not folders. They do not do the trick). What is missing from all this, I believe, is the ability to create inbox folders…

e mail notification (alert)
Instead of being notified of new e mail via another e mail program which is how it works now. Some e mail programs have the option to be notified with a pop up message and a sound when a new e mail arrives.

Support HTML5 web notifications for incoming emails
Some services like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Web, Skype and others send standardised HTML5 web notifications when new messages arrive. Chrome, Firefox and Safari have been supporting this for quite some time. The notifications happen locally and only as long as website is opened (e.g. in a tab) and the user is logged in. ProtonMail should support it too so that users are notified when new emails have arrived.

Lock down the mobile app.
Please lock down mobile app every time it goes out of sight. If it stores encryption password and uses it automatically, it's OK, but it should ask for system password every time it appears in sight. Fingerprint usage would be nice, but even without it, it will be secure. Right now I touch the icon and thats it. Not very secure. SIMSme does it right.
27 votesYou can now add PIN and Touch ID functionality to be implemented every time the app is not in use: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/touchid-and-pin-code/.
In addition, if the code is entered incorrectly more than 10 times, all the data will be wiped from the device: https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-mobile-v1-4-0-release-notes/.

Show me the last time I logged in.
It is always good to know if you really are the only one person who uses the login. Keyloggers etc. make it possible to hack your account.

Password Protected ProtonMail Bridge
ProntonMail Bridge needs to be protected by password. As anyone who uses the pc, can easily see the mailbox username and password in the bridge. Unless the user remember to logout from the bridge properly each time after used, else the bridge will remember the login credential forever. This is a serious security loophole. Especially for those who share their pc.

Inbox folders, custom sorting rules (somewhat like GMail's inbox tabs)
GMail offers a very useful tool for sorting emails, through the inbox folders (Primary, Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums, etc)
It would be awesome to have a similar, perhaps more customizable feature in ProtonMail! Perhaps the ability to create and name custom folders and set rules to direct emails containing <x> string in the subject, body, and sender address to a designated folder. Perhaps this could even be done through tags, by implementing an auto-tagging feature, or both the former and latter.

Email Notification
Because at this time there is no ability to integrate with other email clients (iPhone, MacMail, etc) I would like to get a simple notification to another email account to let me know that a new message is in my box. I don't need to know who from or what it's about, but just that it's a new message. It would be nice if we could get a link to the message to type in our passwords and get to it quickly.
