SimpleLogin seamless integration for email alias reverse-alias usage
SimpleLogin works very well with Proton Mail, and it's great that this is now included in certain paid subscriptions, however there are some opportunities for a more seamless integration in the Proton Mail apps (Web and Mobile), in particular:
Receiving emails:
Option to show actual email address as sender instead of reverse-alias under "From" (i.e. use "X-Simplelogin-Envelope-From" email header where enabled instead of "From").Sending emails:
Option to select email alias as sender under "From" (in the same way as "real" addresses/mailboxes) and then use actual email addresses (rather than the reverse-aliases) under "To", and have Proton Mail automatically use…
576 votesHi everyone, here with a little update on this one:
#1 is complete. The original sender email is shown as the display name for the alias in the from field.
#2 is under consideration, pending anti-spam measures we may have to take. This is also a duplicate request, so we'll be continuing the conversation here: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483/suggestions/15523956
#3 is complete and included in the Proton Mail side panel.

Insert new text field in contacts
Add a freeform text field for contacts. In Gmail contacts this field is called "Notes". The purpose of such a field is to add information about the contact that may be important. History, relationship, detail, memory joggers, whatnot, etc.
1 voteWhen editing a contact on the web, click Add under Other information and select Note in the list.

Use system setting for light/dark mode
The ProtonMail theme should be able to automatically switch to light/dark based on if the system theme is light/dark.

Set a default compose font
As one of those typeface afficionados, I would love to see a feature where I can set a default compose font. Currently the compose screen defaults to Arial.

Delete individual entries from shared recurring events
It's great that you have added the ability to delete single events from a recurring series! However, it's not possible to do this with external calendar invitations. It would be very helpful to delete only one instance of a recurring event that I have been invited to rather than having only the option to delete the entire series.
5 votesThanks for your feedback! It is now possible for an event organizer to cancel a single event occurrence of a recurring event with participants.

Hide some default folders (e.g. drafts, spam...) from the sidebar
I would like to have an option to hide some of the default folders from the side bar and put them under a "more" drop-down menu or something similar. And an option to re-order default folders would be nice as well.
Secondly, most of the time I don't want to see messages I've deleted, in the "All mail" folder. A toggle to show and hide trashed emails would be great.
26 votesYou can hide folders you don't use often in the web version of Proton Mail. Expand the "More" section and drag them here.
We've also planned to let you hide spam and trash emails from All Mail.

Dark mode
I'd like to see a dark mode for the email UI, both app and for the browser. Goes a long way as a quality of life feature.

App selector within ProtonMail
I am unsure if this presently exists, but I think it would be beneficial to have the calendar and the contacts open in individual tabs so one could easily switch between the applications of mail, calendar and contacts without having to close the other tab.
44 votesWith the new ProtonMail, you can easily switch between your ProtonMail, Proton Calendar and Proton Drive using the app switcher. The contacts widget is also easily accessible within ProtonMail. Give this a try at mail.protonmail.com today.

Pixel tracking in emails
Seeing images in an email makes it feel like I'm in the 21st century, but I dont want to be tracked with pixels or other technology, would be nice to block these without blocking images. Kind of like what hey.com does.

Dedicated gmail Import Tool / Feature (Without Using The Bridge)
Please provide a stand alone method to import all gmail message history, without the use of a bridge. So many of us would like to completely leave gmail behind, but cannot because we still rely on the message history in old gmail accounts.
I don't want to download the message history to a computer. I want to transfer all messages directly to folders in my active PM accounts, where I can access them at any time within my PM accounts. Thanks.
1,653 votesWe’re happy to announce that this feature is now complete. You can test it on beta. Don’t hesitate to send us your feedback. We would love to hear it.

Support multiple accounts on iOS
Either allow multiple accounts to be open simultaneously in the iOS app or add option to switch between accounts without having to formally log out and log in between each swap.
Despite allowing multiple aliases for a single account, if you have a personal account but also shared an account (eg with a spouse) aliases don’t suffice. The idea of forwarding every email from one account to another is archaic, lose for user and lose for proton mail because you’ll be storing the same message twice unnecessarily.
Multiple account support is a basic feature for email apps.
417 votesThank you for your feedback! The iOS Proton Mail app supports multiple accounts.
