Any email app worth its salt should be able to quickly select all emails in inbox and “mark all as READ”

This really is annoying. Having to go to each email does waste a lot of time. And it's also one of the reasons I haven't been able to switch to protonmail as a primary account. I love the privacy, but it needs to catch up quite a bit to really be useful. I'm holding out hope though!!

I've actually started not even using my proton account (paid) because one day thousands of my emails decided to show up as unread and I can only mark 50 emails at a time as unread.
If this isn't fixed by next billing cycle I'm just going to cancel my paid account. I really don't have time to be wasting with this stuff

It's such an obvious feature to include. Don't bother switching your email from Google etc until you do unless you like '000s of unread emails

This is extraordinary. I just assumed this would be possible when I signed up for the paid product. Imported 18 years of gmail. What a mess.

In the desktop browser (I am using Safari) there is a button to mark an email or group of selected emails as unread. But there is no equivalent button to mark an email or group of emails as read. Please add it!

I'm not aware of a "quick" way to do this, but I had about 20k unread messages in my inbox until recently. I had a few minutes to spare and I wrote a quick, dirty script to automate the process of "click select all" > "click mark as read" > "click archive". It takes about ten seconds per 50 messages to operate, but you can leave it unattended and let it do its thing.
