Block sender
It would be great to be able to block certain email addresses from being able to send you emails. Not just a filter to go to “spam” but being able to actually block the sender totally

Yes, this would be helpful. It must be easy to use.

What about custom filter to block the whole country - like India and Nigeria?

WE HAVE THIS!
You can CURRENTLY just add a filter to send email to trash for address!Dont waste the devs time when there are real issues to solve!

I would like to add a feature to automatically send a reply or a spam in the blocking of emails. Blocking a sender completely is a good idea. It would keep the spam folder from getting too big.

The lack of this feature is why I cannot recommend Protonmail.
I do not believe for a second that this subject has only 31 votes. -

100% necessary BUT most likely a clause within one of the obtene amounts of terms, conditions, agreements that we all without a doubt sign away on beholding sheepishly maybe, yet not completely blindly accepting [/] these terms in the wind, might I add--BUT... there still does still remain some folks out there whom do sign up for services on the internet with a mindful eye and still many that DO NOT mindfully make their l clicking's around's on the web.
SO, to get to my point at all here, this minimally accepted factuly produeant group of internet users are the BREAD AND BUTTER of many of the online advertisement mecca of commerce and income potential. SO, to further explain how I feel this topic of making one's account have the ability to "Allow" and therefore also in fact "Not Allow" mass lists of users and / or single account aliases tethered to one's email account -- likely LESSENS the parent company's (ProtonMail being the mum in this instance) ability to offer a reasonable means of adversely advertising. Lol.

[b]They need us to have more spam fall through the cracks to without our inboxes without the direct nor indirect conditions the company has written into the coding of the user interface they therefore subsequently provide (most often) for FREE!> This argument is further validated, from my point of view, by the "timely" yet "oh ya we gots theses heres extras abilitieses for thez paying PREMIUM account holders since per share we make more by processing let alone knowingly charged account holders' bank/card accounts per month BUT also that wonderful percentage of "I am too lazy to fucking remove my account and end relations with said company whom is charging me a couple bucks a month along side dicks.com dickdicks.com dickydicks.com and alllll the rest that seem to just pile on top one another so much so that the user and holder of provided banking account has likely no knowledge this money we are making from them even is taking place at allzzz love you xoxxo muah"

It seems we are unable to permanently block the person who emails us. With spam and without spam would be great. Anybody else in with me on this?

Put a simple and complete BLOCK feature in. Those that are blocked can be told that they are blocked and to cease further email activity with the ex-recipient.

This is a crucial feature.

In "Spam" be able to block or blacklist multiple email addresses by a "Select All" option so that you don't have to enter each email address in the blacklist. Or, even right-click on the spam email and "block sender". Some days I get over 100 spam emails and while I appreciate they go to spam, I want an easy way to block them, in mass.

I agree that an easier tool to select all, or right click and designate a sender as "spam" would be very welcomed. I'm getting over 100 emails in my spam folder. I hate even checking my spam but once in a real email is stuck there.

What more do I need to say? Practically all other mainstream clients use this feature. If an email address is being used to spam me, a simple block feature would save data, processing power and personal online security.
For a system which aims to be the absolute best of all hosted emails from a security point of view, it is surprising that this option has not been included. I would hope to see it in future editions! :) -

Absolutely essential. Sadly not included yet

ProtonMail really has to improve their spam detection mechanism - I get similar spam email too - although I have already moved email with similar subject lines from the same sender to spam.

Yes please!!!
As to Jay's comment sending back to scammers that you're a very secure email ha ha, will only encourage spammers to find a way. "account not found" gives a number of reasons that it could a dean end and not something to bother with but still damn secure for us. -

I'm going to another email if you cannot block someone that is annoying me.

Oh, I just noticed a comment about sending a reject message. I think it should be like other email services: just block it. No need to let the blocked person know, and many times it is better to NOT have them know.

Wow, I thought every email program had that! I haven't blocked anyone often, but the times I did it was definitely necessary. Does 'started' mean it's in the works now? I hope so. All that said, I do love Proton, and especially how they continue to work hard to give us what we are asking for. Thanks everyone.

Yes. In Outlook.com, I would select all spam, then click "Block Senders" so I don't receive twice from the same emails.
I would like to be able to block spam sender emails. There's a blacklist section, but I can't add hundreds of emails one by one.
