Account switching on desktop
You can now switch between your Proton accounts from the Proton Mail desktop app, and stay logged in to all of them.
Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux: https://proton.me/mail/download

As many other Proton users, I own several accounts. The possibility to switch between email accounts in the desktop app is an expected feature. Even better is to see them in the same view. Take inspiration on how the Mimestream app (mimestream.com) do several GMail accounts.

Is there a way to change between two accounts on the Windows app like one can do on the Android app? For those with multiple accounts this would be very helpful.

This would be a critical feature as a business customer

The ability to use multiple accounts in the desktop app is critical for me, making it unusable without this feature.

It is annoying to have to login to the web to look at my second proton account. At least with the iphone app I can toggle between proton accounts. Please make the desktop version just as good.

The desktop clients appear to be the web interface wrapped in a mutable codebase - I've checked out the Windows one and am running the linux beta in Ubuntu.
The Web has that nifty "switch or add account" button. Would be very much appreciated here where there can be a bit of stuff to handle in each of 2 Proton accounts during business hours.
How much would I like the switch capacity in the Ubuntu desktop client?
It helps workflow so much that when it's busy I close the desktop (nicely behaving for a single account) in favour of a Firefox tab that separates the 2 accounts smoothly.
Thanks for your generous invitation to note these rfes. -

This is super important to enable fast switching between multiple organizations, including work vs. personal life. Besides, it is already implemented for the browser, should be a quick win to migrate the code to the Desktop

Yes we need seamless accounts switching on desktop just like on android app with multiple accounts.

The desktop app does not remember accounts. When switching from one account to another, you must always enter usernames and passwords.

To be able to add, as on Thunderbird, several Proton accounts in the same Linux desktop app (I'm not talking about alias, or the ability to easily switch between two accounts). I need to see simultaneously, all my accounts in the same window. As I know, the beta version can only be used for one account.

In Proton Mail for iOS, I can easily switch between my different accounts (personal and professional). In Proton Calendar for iOS, I can only access one of those accounts. I sometimes miss appointments or create scheduling conflicts because of not being able to easily check both calendars.

I need that feature as well. Before, I never had a problem switching between my paid and free accounts. Now the app is useless for my free account - unless I upgrade it. If I have to use the browser to enter my free account, I can do the same with my paid account. Therefore, why have the app in the first place?

I think it would be nice to be able to chose between authenticated accounts straight from the menu instead of the current solution of going to another page to make your choice.
The menu would present you a list of your currently authenticated accounts and the "add account" button -

This feature is important for anyone who logs in to multiple accounts which I think is a significant portion of the users. The log out and then log in with a new user method is a bit more clunky feeling and being able to check email from a different account from browser, phone app, or desktop using a "switch account" AND "switch address" (because multiple addresses can be under one account) would be preferred.

This would be a very welcome feature.
