  1. Open location of saved files when attachment is saved

    At the moment when an attachment is saved in Proton Mail there is no feedback to confirm the file has been saved. In other email apps, when an attachment is saved, the folder where the item was saved usually opens which is very useful.

  3. What filter was applied?

    It would be great to know, what filter on an e-mail was applied.
    Therefore, every created filter becomes an unique number.
    Beside the shield icon (for trackers etc.) in the mail would be enough place for the filter icon :).
    If there was no filter applied, the icon turns green without number.
    Was there an allow-filter, the icon turns green with the number of the filter.
    A block-filter turns the icon red with the number of the block filter, that's all.

  4. Make pdf attachements in emails searchable

    Today I needed to find a receipt (PDF) which was attached to an email years ago. I have imported all my mail from gmail. I didn't find any emails in Proton Mail, but I found it in Gmail because I luckily haven't deleted my emails there yet. It would be great if PDFs were searchable also in Proton Mail.

  5. Please add single-click button to connect to new ProtonVPN server

    Is it possible to have a VPN Server 'hop' button that with a single click:
    1) pauses any active sessions to prevent any bleeding while disconnecting from current server
    2) disconnects from existing server
    3) reconnects to a different server from the one just disconnected from

    Why do I want this? There are lots of reasons someone may need to hop to another server (troubleshooting network or server issues, accessing a website that doesn't like where traffic is coming from, etc.).   6. Need an option for folders to be collapsed by default

    If you have a lot of nested folders they take up the entire visible portion of column (desktop). Very redundant to have to manually collapse folders on every login. Please provide this option. The sooner the better.

  7. Move to Trash after specified date

    Hi, I have an idea to improve the ProtonMail experience. I haven't seen this in other email clients aside from Outlook, but this is a rule that needs to be created first, not an option to each emails.

    I would like a feature where emails can be tagged or moved to Trash on a specified date.

  8. Inline Compose Option for Replies

    When replying to emails, it is very often important to be able to read the content of the previous message. In the proton mail web and desktop clients, this is not possible, as the composer window in the corner of the screen hides much of the message.

    My ideal behavior is similar to gmail, where the reply composer is below the message, allowing you to both scroll to and read the message you are replying to.

    A "signature" that is automatically added to all composed emails.
    This signature can include a prewritten text box that is added to the end. It can include anything that the composer wishes to add:
    Address
    Phone #
    jpeg Signature

    I work on resource-constrained systems very frequently, either because the systems themselves are small and/or have slow internet connections, or because I do a tremendous amount of multitasking for business development. I also spend a lot of time working alongside people who cannot regularly afford to shell out thousands on increasingly expensive consumer devices (phones, laptops).

    GMail used to have a "slow internet connection" feature where it could render the Inbox in "HTML mode", using way less CSS, comparatively basic HTML, and just the core JS required for the features available. A benefit of that was that it also literally…

  11. Display Reply-To header in incoming emails

    It would be nice if the mail app (I'm using the web) would show a Reply-To header when present. Or perhaps when different than the From header.

    My use case is that someone sent me an email through a web site which does not expose my email unless I reply. The sender's email is in Reply-To, though the mail is from Foobar-mailer.

  12. Preview email message text

    It would be great to have an option to have a preview of the email message contents in the list of emails under each email subject header like you can do on Apple Mail (which also has an option for how many lines you want to preview). This allows you to scan through the list of emails and get an idea of their contents before choosing which ones to view first.

  13. Remove link in "Edit Link" menu

    In the email text editor, the only way I know how to remove a hyperlink is by selecting the link text and clicking the "Clear all formatting." At least, I think this removes the link...

    It would be more intuitive if in the "Edit Link" menu (select link text and press "Insert Link" or Ctrl+k) there were a big red button that said "Remove" that would convert the link to normal text.

  14. Allow ProtonMail to be used as an SMTP client

    It would be useful if we could use ProtonMail as a SMTP client, so from an account like account@proton.me, I could connect to the Google SMTP servers and send email as account@gmail.com. This would allow full support of both email addresses indefinitely while maily using the ProtonMail applications (I would never open GMail), but also it would allow to test ProtonMail for a while, with no risk, while considering migration (GMail would still have all the emails in there, since it stores emails sent through SMTP).

  16. Allow email body to be moved out of Proton window

    Often when viewing an email, I find it necessary to be able to move it out of the way, out of the Proton window in order to complete a task while seeing the message contents. Example: I get an email confirming a webinar. I have to open calendar (which I also cannot move out of the Proton window) and go back and forth between mail and calendar so I can add the pertinent webinar information. That is just rather silly.     I'm a public individual and I often declare war on india, leading to 1.4 billion angry people. many sign up my public email for a subscription bot attack where i get hundreds of emails an hour signing me up for email subscriptions i do not want.
