Brought a years subscription not even imagining that nested folders were not supported, certainly wil not be renewing, if this functionality is mot implimented soon. Cmon Proton..

It is quite sad, that this feature is not already existing... So rudimentary. Thought I buy this Mail and it will work then, looks like I wasted 30€ on this (hope not, because basically I like it here).

You're welcome for my money but if you want me to continue giving you money after that year --> Let me organize my Mails in a propper and standard way like any other mail. This feature can't be too hard to improve. Right?

PLEASE do that and I'll tell the world why they ALL should pay for a mail and switch! I don't have the time and muse to look for another mail-provider again...

But since this topic is from 2017, I think I'll leave it as it is for now and continue my search for other Mailproviders... Maybe invest my money in this feature, so others will have a great time here, at least in the future ;)

How about nested labels - as developed by Gmail a few years ago?

Absolutely an essential feature and not that complicated to implement !
@Protonmail team when will you respond, or at least evaluate this feedback (2 years old) ?

nested folders are a basic functionality of any mainstream email app. Protonmail will not be adopted in business until this is resolved. Current folder structure is too cumbersome

I've used Protonmail for 2 years. I like most of what is offered. However, I need to use subfolders. Labels don't cut it for me. I'm also evaluating Startmail. I will probably make Startmail my main email service because they incorporate this feature. I'll decide the next billing cycle.

I can't understand why a paid email sub doesn't have basic UI functions - nested folders, adjustable width folder pane. I have to codify my folder names just to make them fully visible in the narrow folder pane. Beyond ridiculous.

This is a feature that must be implemented ASAP!

Next year it will be 2020 ... Why no sub-folders from the start? I think I know why but Im not telling. ADD basic Sub-Folders & get rid of or make deletable/editable the Archives Labels & Starred. Cheers

The pssibility to make sub-folders for storing emails would be appreciated. Ie. folders that have parent folders and the folders would show up in a hierarchial tree where the folders are currently displayed.

Especially for corporate users filing emails hierarchialy is of great help.

Of course I should have done my homework before subscribing to Plus, but the lack of nested folders (like Outlook) or labels (like Gmail) is a deal-breaker for me. Also, this does not seem to be a feature to be implemented anytime soon. I will regretfully cancel my subscription and refrain from importing my archive and using my domain with ProtonMail until this feature is added.

Lack of this function is preventing me from fully migrating from Google Mail to Proton. This should be a top priority feature add.

The current folder system sucks. I am considering hosting one of my domains my self for receiving emails and newsletters because I can't nest these and organize them.

This really is a key feature that is missing (especially for nerds like us who would use protonmail in the first place!)

I was thinking about upgrading just because I need more folders. But seeing that I can't have nested folders is making me have 2nd thoughts.

I agree with other comments below -- nested folders is an essential feature, and it's surprising it's not already part of Protonmail.
