  4. Set default view in desktop app to show mail and calendar

I'm very happy with the new desktop app for Windows. Is it possible to implement a feature, when you open the desktop app Windows, both mail and the small column for the calendar are visible, default.

  5. Customize when to move to next message in list

Opt-in to always open previous or next message when action causes current message to go out of the filtered list.
This list can be a folder, a label list or search result.
Actions can be deletion, removing label, archiving, etc.

  6. SpamSieve in macOS app

SpamSieve is a fantastic on device spam filter for macOS. A number of different mail clients currently support it and it'd be great to see support added to the new Proton Mail client in future.

  7. Easy Switch improvements

I tried to import emails from a specific website in my Gmail to Proton but I can't do that. It would be a really helpful option if that were possible.

Right now the only way to have that as an option is to import a specific label. So, I can create a new, unique label for emails from that website and then import just that label.

However, there is no easy way to find that label when importing. I have over 100 labels and I have to manually unselect each just to import one label.

    Options like "unselect all labels"…

  9. Disable ability to click email links

When looking at attack vectors the possibility to click on a link is one of the important attack vectors for mail.
I would recommend a optional function where a user can turn off link clicking completely.

Like others suggested you could in addition provide a option where you still allow to copy a link with a button.

Another good suggestion I saw was to highlight the domain within a link

In combination with disabling content loading this will be very effective to mitigating most threats.

Finally you could make a function where users are give the option to scan…

  10. Rule progress indicator (mail X/X mails)

Show a bit more feedback when a rule is being (re)applied. Show which rule is currently processing and how far it is, ex: 'processing 123/888 mails' or a percentage.

  11. Get paid to recieve marketing emails

    Hello,
It would be nice to have a subscription-based email address for senders to pay email recipients .5 – 1.0 cents for all of their sales information and reoccurring junk mail.

  12. Custom inbox layout

In order to make the transition easier from such mailboxes such as Gmail, having options for the mailbox layout would help.

We could have layout options such as "Unread - starred - read" or "Starred - unread - read" to keep what's important to you at a glance.

A well structured inbox makes for better productivity and ease of use, and therefore makes the product more attractive, or at least on par, with its competitors.

  13. Auto-Delete Spam & Trash for free

We already have the ability to automatically delete the Spam and Trash folders. But Free accounts don't have that.

It would be a very nice convenience feature, and I don't think it really costs that much money to do that.

Other private email providers already have this feature, so Proton is standing out by not having it for free.

  14. Automated folder filtering during Easy Switch

Setting up Gmail forwarding as a new user to Proton almost made me quit the platform, it was so daunting to have that much data thrown at me. Setting up an easy transition like a dedicated Gmail forwarding folder option would make the transition alot easier for new users. Or predetermined filters that new users could setup, for example anything Social media related is filtered into a folder along with anything on a newsletter list.

  15. On iPhone app, the Contacts icon is too far away

I have over 100 mail folders. When I want to go to my contacts, the icon is at the bottom of the list, so I have to scroll through my 100 mail folders to get there. It just take too much time to go to that icon for me to use Proton contacts.

  16. Allow unread emails in custom folders to still show up as notifications in iOS

First, I have multiple aliases set up and have set up filters to redirect emails to each alias into different folders. The problem is, that since those emails are redirected to folders and no longer reside in my inbox, the notification icon on the app listing the number of new, unread emails no longer displays at all. I still get banner notifications, but I would much rather have a simple red circle notification displaying the number of unread email, regardless of whether it is in another folder.

The second part... I know some people deliberately filter out junk email into…

  17. Track emails and attachments and links clicked

I use Trustifi to track emails I have sent. I see a map of where it was opened. Tracking is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing.

I enjoy seeing the IP address of the recipients location.

I liked seeing when the links or attachments were opened or downloaded.

I can see the time they opened the email. I know if they didn't open it. This has been very helpful. It prevented me from taking someone to court. they would have been blind-sided.

I can see if the recipient forwarded it to someone else.

I can make the email attachments open only once…

  18. Web app notifications on mobile [Android]

Right now, I'm only using the installed web app on my Tab S9 Ultra. Right now the Android app is too unoptimized to even consider using it as default and is only installed for notifications.

Unfortunately, the installed web app on Android doesn't seem to support notifications at all like on the desktop. I enabled every setting possible but I don't receive any notifications. Please consider adding working notifications for the mobile version of the web app.
In the installed mobile web app from Outlook this feature exists already.

  19. SPAM BLOCKING by IP address range

In addition to the current spam filtering options, it would be nice to be able to completely BLOCK receiving email from specific IP ranges. (Reject the message at the SMTP level.

I have a list of about 60 /24's that only deliver spam to my inbox. Since many of them are controlled by spammers, they spew garbage with an endlessly rotating series of domains, so blocking by domain name is impossible. also, some of these sources operate out of several countries, so country based blocking would have too much collateral damage. (Also allow import and export of the blackslist vis…
