1. Detect DNS leak and warn ProtonVPN users

   An encrypted DNS (Called DoH - DNS over https) is said by you (in the later linked article) to "prevents our software from being able to see the DNS queries. This makes it very hard to block or reroute them."
   causing DNS leak, which can be considered a serious privacy compromise IMO.

   It seems to be too severe not to warn user about it in case it is doable from the side of your application. I guess your app tries to read the DNS request and if is encrypted, it fails and can do some action, like displaying a warning inside a main ProtonVPN page, linking user to a tutorial on how to fix it ( https://protonvpn.com/support/dns-leaks-privacy/#dns-over-https or similar ).

2. Game Server Proximity Connection

   This feature could enhance the gaming experience for VPN users. Upon initiating a gaming session, the VPN would identify the location of the game server to which the user is connected. The VPN would then select and connect to its own server that is geographically closest, or lowest ping to the game server. This process ensures optimal latency and performance by minimizing the distance data has to travel between the VPN server and the game server, potentially providing a better gaming experience.

   Functionality:

   1.  Initial Connection: When a user starts a game, the VPN detects the connection to the game server.
   2.  Server Analysis: The VPN identifies the physical location of the game server.
   3.  Optimal Server Selection: The VPN then scans its network to find the server closest to the game server’s location.
   4.  Seamless Re-routing: The VPN automatically switches the user’s connection to this optimally located server.
   

   This approach could improve gaming performance for VPN users, particularly in multiplayer online games where latency is a critical factor.

4. ProtonVPN, add VPN traffic obfuscation, like a ScrambleSuit

   As internet censorship tightens across the world, governments are becoming more and more concerned about preventing the use of VPN to circumvent their restrictions.

   A new internet traffic monitoring technology known as Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) has been proven to successfully block OpenVPN traffic regardless of the port used being 80, 443 or even 53. To sum up: everyone who uses the internet needs to be aware of Deep Packet Inspection. DPI is a next-generation technology capable of inspecting every byte of every traffic packet that passes through a DPI device, that means packet headers, types of applications and actual packet content in real time which were previously impossible to do using advanced proxies, or stateful firewalls systems.

   Using ScrambleSuit method, many users on networks using DPI have been able to bypass it. The method works in most cases because the OpenVPN traffic which is obfuscated can't be recognized by DPI.
