Automatic VPN kill switch to interupt up/download when VPN is disconnected.
When your VPN disconnects, it should also interupt the Internet connection so that active downloads or uploads are interrupted. Currently when the VPN is disrupted... my computer continues run with my information in the open without encryption. This is a serious breach of security.

The Feature already exists. In Windows and Linux ONLY, there is a third mode in the Kill Switch settings called "Permanent Kill Switch".
If enabled, as long as your VPN is not connected all internet traffic will be blocked.
Restarting the device or any other method will not allow reconnection. I am assuming this is the feature you are requesting -

a killswitch like other VPN services would be better. a total stop of the internet connection unless the VPN is on and connected. yesterday all the proton services went down, and you got locked out of protonvpn but you were still connected to the internet.
In this case all connections should be blocked. -

This feature already exists. Go to Settings>General then click the box for "VPN Kill Switch"
