Proton vpn linux app stealth protocol
We're not asking you to do anything difficult; we simply want to connect to your Linux VPN application using the stealth protocol. The stealth protocol has been available on all platforms for years, but you haven't added it to your Linux application. Now, achieve this.

With Deep Packet Inspection the inability to bypass the firewalls means that other actions (disconnecting from the network, running up the Android client, creating a hotspot, connecting to that, then disconnecting reconnecting to the surveilled network, and dismantling the hotspot (presupposing a sinal is good enough). is not only time consuming, but annoying. Stealth protocol for Linux is extremely important in the face of heavy surveillance.

Adding my voice to this thread because I think Proton needs to see how many of us are affected. I work as a journalist in a country with heavy internet restrictions, and Proton VPN's stealth protocol on Android has been a game-changer for my safety. But I do most of my research and writing on a Linux laptop, and without stealth support, I'm constantly exposed. I've tried every workaround — TLS tunnels, SSH forwarding, even setting up my own obfuscation proxy — but nothing works as seamlessly as Proton's native stealth implementation. This isn't just a convenience issue; for some of us, it's a security and safety issue. Please prioritize Linux stealth protocol. https://sentencecountr.com/

I've upvoted this and I'll keep upvoting every time I see it. The lack of stealth protocol on Linux is unacceptable for a premium VPN service. I understand that development resources are finite, but this feature has been requested for literal years. The workaround of using the OpenVPN configuration files with third-party clients is clunky and doesn't offer the same level of obfuscation. I've had to explain to my non-technical colleagues why they can't just use Proton VPN on their Linux machines the same way they do on Windows. It's embarrassing. Please, Proton, give us a timeline or at least acknowledge that this is a priority. https://diskwala-modapk.com/

This is the one feature keeping me from recommending Proton VPN to my Linux-using friends. The stealth protocol is a killer feature for bypassing Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and other advanced blocking techniques. Without it, the Linux app is just another OpenVPN/Wireguard client. I travel frequently to places like China and Iran for work, and being able to use stealth mode on my phone is a lifesaver. But my laptop runs Linux, and I'm constantly having to find workarounds or rely on less secure methods. Proton, you're supposed to be the privacy leader. Act like it and bring stealth to Linux. https://cuphead-apk.com/

Creating and developing the Stealth protocol is one of the most important things for me. I really hope support for this protocol will appear in the Linux console client as soon as possible.

I completely agree with this request. Many privacy-focused users rely on Linux as their main system, and having the stealth protocol available on other platforms but not on Linux creates a noticeable feature gap. In restrictive networks or places where VPN traffic is blocked, stealth support can make a big difference in maintaining secure access. It would be great if the Proton VPN team could prioritize adding stealth protocol support to the Linux app so that Linux users have the same capabilities as users on other platforms. https://pizzaedition-net.github.io

I completely agree — adding the stealth protocol to the Linux app is really important. A lot of users rely on Linux for privacy-focused setups, and not having stealth support creates a gap compared to other platforms. In restrictive networks or services that block VPN traffic, stealth can make a huge difference in usability and security. I was actually reading about similar privacy and online access challenges recently, and found some useful insights here: https://szgames.io It would be great if the Proton VPN team could prioritize this, especially for long-term users who expect feature parity across all platforms.

With ProtonVPN on my laptop, I can't sign in to my bank, university, nor even internet provider, among many others. Changing from Wireguard to Openvpn does nothing to alleviate the problem. I have to keep exposing myself to security risks EVERY TIME I need to connect with such important places. Stealth on my phone works for this purpose, but not having stealth on linux for a customer with 2 year subscription, is unacceptable. I know you have a lot on your plate, but for security-minded customers, this is an absolute necessity.

If it isn't difficult why haven't you developer your own protocol lol
