Allow User-Selectable Exit Nodes with Secure Core
When creating a VPN configuration file using Secure Core, I would like the option to choose a specific secondary (exit) location within the region I intend to use. Currently, all western U.S. Secure Core configurations default to Los Angeles, which limits flexibility.
Instead, I want the ability to select a specific state or city for the exit node, in addition to the Secure Core entry location. This would allow for more accurate geographic representation and better performance. Not all users are based in Los Angeles, and routing all traffic through that single location is both restrictive and inefficient.
This limitation…

Free Austria VPN Server for Forumula 1
I love to watch formula one and it would be great if one austria server would become free. However, it would be understandable if it is not implemented.

Split-Tunneling
Someone please explain why ProtonVPN cannot have the Kill-Switch and Split-Tunneling both activated at the same time. There are lots of times I have to disconnect ProtonVPN to access some Internet sites. Not having a Kill-Switch and disconnecting the VPN defeats the purpose of a VPN; a Kill-Switch is a must. Other VPN allow both the Kill-Switch and Split-Tunneling to be activated at the same time; why can't ProtonVPN do the same. Hopefully a Proton Team Member will explain.

More obvious status indication on the windows taskbar
The status on the current icon on the windows taskbar is so tiny I can barely see it.
When you hover over it, it does not say if the VPN is connected or not.
I would like a larger visual indication and also the status when you hover.4 votes -
Don't require login credentials for the Proton VPN browser extension
Why does the Proton VPN browser extension require you to log into your proton account? The mullvad browser extension doesn't require this. It somehow talks to the mullvad VPN app and it just works. Could you please change this for the proton vpn browser extension?

Update the Proton VPN GTK
The proton vpn app for android/iOS looks great. Why not bring the same design to Linux? I don't know about the desktop app for macOS/windows but, frankly, it looks terrible on Linux. Please redesign the Proton VPN GTK app. Thank you very much.

Mac OS VPN App Sort Servers By Load
This is specifically for the Mac OS version of the app. For countries that have multiple states with multiple server, it would be great to have an option to sort the server for the entire country by load, rather than having to go into each state. This is how the iOS app works and it is much more convenient than having to manually check through everything.

Split-Tunneling Fill Switch and Advance Kill Switch
Proton Unlimited has the best features compaired to other services, but needs to fix critical features with ProtonVPN:
ProtonVPN has a Regular Kill Switch, but for optimal security it needs to have an Advance Kill Switch (An advanced VPN kill switch is a security feature that prevents your device from connecting to the internet unless it is actively connected to a VPN server. Unlike basic kill switches that only activate when the VPN disconnects unexpectedly, the advanced version blocks all internet traffic even if the VPN app is closed, restarted, or during system boot-up and shutdown). ProtonVPN Split-Tunneling automatically blocks…10 votes -
We’re still using Windows 7 (or Windows 10) – so what?
We’re still using Windows 7 – so what? It’s none of your business; let us use the VPN version we’ve paid for.
What’s the problem? All you need to do is let us use the latest compatible version we’ve paid for. Especially as I’ve read that you’re also going to ban Windows 10 users soon. Microsoft is using underhand tactics and you’re just going along with it? What’s got into you?3 votes -
Update TV app interface & add more features
I've been using Proton for years and one of the things that still bugs me, although certain things have been added we're still lacking a kill switch and many more modern settings with a modern interface that alignes with the rest of the VPN apps. Will this be addressed at all? I know it's something myself and others have asked for a lot over the years and I know whilst TV apps may not be the top priority it's something many of us need nowadays, I've had it a few times where my IP has been exposed as the app…

Enhance anti-censorship capabilities and update IP addresses promptly to ensure usability in regions with strict censorship.
Currently, Proton VPN is almost unusable in regions with strict censorship, and it is hoped that measures can be taken to alleviate this problem.

Fix Custom DNS on Linux and Windows
Custom DNS on Linux and Windows Does not work. The custom DNS address is ignored, and DNS requests are still sent via Proton servers.
It works on Android (although after some time it seems to revert to Proton DNS servers until I disconnect and reconnect, when it starts working again).
This needs resolving please.

Option to choose available servers in free version
Sometimes it can be annoying that I can't choose a stable needed server for me on free version of the VPN, that's why some servers sometimes get overloaded with users and it's really hard to find a different server that isnt as much loaded. Please add this to the VPN!

Secure core chaining
I wanted to suggest a potential enhancement for the Secure Core feature. Currently, it’s only possible to select one Secure Core server as the first hop, and the exit must be outside the Secure Core network. It would be great if users could chain multiple Secure Core servers together.
For example, it could allow connections like Switzerland → Iceland, or Switzerland → Sweden, rather than being limited to an external exit server. This would provide an additional layer of security for users who want to maximize jurisdictional protection across multiple Secure Core nodes.
Thank you for considering this improvement, and…10 votes -
Improve the speed of "Auto startup".
It takes a lot of time for Proton VPN to launch & connect to a VPN server automatically. I log on and have to wait a lot before being able to use the internet as I have to wait for Proton VPN to connect to a server. This is really annoying and is like my number one concern with Proton VPN.
One proposed fix was: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932836-proton-vpn/suggestions/44812795--feature-request-connect-on-boot, which says "completed" but no matter how hard I try to find this function, it, as far as I know, doesn't exist.
Please do something about this. I'm not a developer so I…

Mobile app - Allow "trust wifi network" option
VPN Always on - for this feature, it would be nice to have a "trust wifi network" option. Like Nord VPN, you can trust a certain wifi network so when you connect to that wifi network it disconnects the VPN. When you disconnect from that network it reconnects to the VPN. You can have a list of trusted wifi networks remembered in the app.

User Interface Refresh for Fire TV/Android TV + inclusion of profiles
A major overhaul/refresh of the Fire/Android TV apps to bring in some cohesion with Apple TV, Windows and phone apps.
Also to include profile options like Fastest Location (excluding my country) for the TV apps. If not profiles, at least the Fastest Location (ex.) option.

Application Logs
In settings > view logs - create a toggle to enable Application, WireGuard and Transaction logging within the application. There are benefits to having this logging available, however it should be disabled by default and only enabled for troubleshooting/debugging issues. This would improve application performance significantly and it would remove a potential privacy issue related to application log access.

Extend NetShield content blocking options
I wish NetShield had more fine-tuned content blocking options beyond malware and ads/trackers. Mullvad can also block the following:
- Gambling
- Adult content
- Social mediaPlease add these options to NetShield so I don't have to trust a third party custom DNS (and risk being fingerprinted for it). Proton might treat this as low priority, but it's important to me. This and DAITA are some of Mullvad's distinctive features, so I'd appreciate if Proton had them too.
