1. Select country on free plan

   I want to be able to select the country at least, I don't care if I cant choose the server or not, but its annoying having to connect to a place on the other side of the world. I most likely will stop using this VPN if this is not added back.

   With the free plan changes made at the end of 2023, we aim to provide optimal speeds and latency to everyone using our free, unlimited, ad-free VPN. Although you can't select a specific server, you can change the server that was initially assigned to you.

I am even desperately asking for help to make our premium features free for Iranian users for at least a month, because in fact, with this insecure VPN that works more or less, most of them belong to the government, and there is no possibility of paying or purchasing premium from that side, and all free servers are down and I can't connect anymore. 4. Buggy

   I've been trying to use ProtonVPN for a while, and the experience hasn't been good. For example, the kill switch doesn't work reliably (internet usually worked while ProtonVPN was not active), and lately also the internet doesn't work at all when the VPN is active (can't load any site). I'm not trying any exotic locations or sites or anything. Quitting the VPN brings internet back to normal. If I activate a different VPN client, using the same country, everything still works. Back to Proton, internet stops working again.

   Please polish your product. I really want to use ProtonVPN, but I'm forced to keep using the old one, because it always works, while ProtonVPN constantly has issues.

6. Modern GUI redesign / refresh for Proton VPN Linux app

   First of all, thank you for the official Linux GUI app and for the constant updates (especially recent CLI improvements and new features being added to GTK app).
   I’m a happy Proton user using your Linux app daily on Artix. The app is stable and the core functionality works great, but visually and UX-wise it still feels quite outdated compared to the beautiful, modern interfaces you have on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
   Many Linux users (including me) would really appreciate a proper GUI refresh / redesign to bring the Linux client closer in look & feel to the other platforms:

   Cleaner, more modern card-based layout
   Better dark mode support & theme consistency with system (GTK4/libadwaita style would be perfect)
   Smoother animations and micro-interactions
   More compact/quick-connect panel (like on mobile)
   Updated server list with better search, favorites pinning, recent locations, etc.
   Overall visual parity so Linux doesn’t feel like the “poor cousin” anymore :)

   From what I’ve read (e.g. David Peterson’s post about GUI refresh work already in progress) it seems this is already on your radar - that’s awesome! Just wanted to add one more +1 from the community and say that many people are really looking forward to this update.

   I don't know where the problem lies, whether it's a bug in the Chrome browser or whether my efforts are futile, but what is certain is that given the circumstances in Iran, I want to emphasize once again that the attention of every free-thinking person who believes in freedom of expression cannot be indifferent. It should be suspected. Now I'm connected to another VPN, which is unstable and has other problems. Thank you.

9. fix the systask icon options for fastest server option/random server option.

   I AM LOSING MY MIND!!! when i leave the 'fastest server' and randomize 100+ times or more over a durration of more then 24 hours, so long as i do not reboot my pc, if i choose the option 'fastest' it will revert me to the original sever i was on. Despite the fact that #1~ it is not. i can find servers with 25% loaded capacity when it gives me 45% and it doesn't seem to even try to find what the fastest is at the time of. i have to open the application and so a search for 'us-ca' then locate whatever my fastest was, and select whatever is underneath it... because random sends me to another country!!!! WTF PROTON!

10. Diskless Servers on SecureCore

    Maybe this is already being done as of recent, but i can't find confirmation anywhere that the infrastucture is configured in such a manner.
    Would increase my already high trust witrh Proton, for ProtnVPN, to confirm they run their servers diskless, at least in the SecureCore.

11. Static Port forwarding

    Please change the dynamic port forwarding to static port forwarding why:

    In my BitTorrent client I have +200 torrents, dynamic port is boring because EVERY TIME I connect to a server I have to change the port in the BitTorrent client settings and the re-announcement is really long for all my torrents.

    Please add to the ProtonVPN dashboard panel or in the application, the possibility to add static port like MullvadVPN do, example for the ProtonVPN Plus plans add the possibility to add 10 random forwarded ports.

    Plus static forwarded port may work if you use the manual configuration: OpenVPN config file, Wireguard config file or IKEv2 not just in the ProtonVPN app.

    The Idea is like you go into the ProtonVPN dashboard and you chose the country who you want your forwarded port and a random port number will be generated like 59823 and this port will be forwarded to all servers in the region you choose like all servers in Paris.

    Then you can connect to any server in Paris and the port you received will be forwarded.

    Please add this it's more efficient than dynamic ports.
