  1. Adding new servers in Romania

Hello,I came here to post about thi idea because in Romania the servers are always at 85%/90% and it's kinda lowering my gaming expirience on mobile(aldo on Windows 10). It would be really nice. And also i would like a new feature for example let's say on the free plan you don't like the server you chose to connect and you don't want to wai 1:20-20 minutes. How about an option that you can chose a country to connect manually without waiting.

  2. Access Proton Mail via Proton VPN website

When logged into the Proton VPN website, it'd be nice if there was an option to access or go to that account's Proton Mail website. They share the same email address and are under the same account, but why can't I go to Proton Mail from Proton VPN? It kinda seems like a no-brainer to me.

  4. Headless CLI

There is little reason why the CLI is not able to run in a headless setup and needs authentication via UI.
Seems easy to implement and I seem to remember that this once worked?

  5. Using stealth protocol instead of alternating routing for desktop app VPN log in

In some countries proton services are blocked and alternative rounting is not helping to log into your proton accout. This forces you to install other VPN apps to get inside proton vpn desktop. Using stealth feature would allow to log into your account even in countries where alternative routing is useless

  7. Glasswire firewall with Proton VPN integration

Add a Super firewall like (Glasswire) to proton VPN. This would be especially helpful for android users where you can only have one VPN working at any given time. And Glasswire requires one of those So then you couldn't have Proton VPN running at the same time. Adding this feature will also help reduce transmitted data over cellphone and any data line...

  8. Feature to manage connected vpn clients

Having a Web based connection/client management page would help monitor, authorise, link/unlink vpn clients.

    Details:

Since my plan supports multiple connections, I use it across multiple devices of mine and that includes my wife's iPad. What I find uncomfortable currently is that there's no way to manage the different connected clients from say, a Web portal.

So in this particular instance, I need to install proton vpn on my wife's iPad using my proton master password. That's uncomfortable and feels potentially unsecure.

In another use case, being able to remotely unlink a legacy device (for example an old iPad or…

  9. Ubuntu Touch App

Presently in the mobile operating system of Ubuntu Touch it is a cumbersome manual process to get a VPN working. Given that such users are a privacy focused bunch, and with Volla and Fairphone offering Ubuntu Touch as a pre-installed operating system option, it might be worthwhile for Proton to make an Ubuntu Touch port of the ProtonVPN app. Shouldn't take too much change to an existing Ubuntu compatible app, and would certainly garner new Proton subscriptions as the only easily set up VPN for the OS.

  11. Ignore Split Tunnel apps when using public wifi

Toggle switch somewhere in the app so that when using an open WiFi network, all split tunnel apps are ignored so everything must use the VPN.

I add apps to split tunnel for compatibility reasons when on trusted networks but when on public WiFi I would rather these apps not work than allowing direct internet access on a potentially insecure network

  13. Dot and Doh and all the very common security feature for dns

DNS Queries Must have end to end encryption using dot or doh. I'm currently using protonvpn because its dns and vpn endpoints are in Switzerland. that's huge because the 14 eyes act. but I'm still concerned my data can be man in the middle attacked and be seen by someone.
wont dot or doh solve this? providing end to end encryption to your authorities dns servers? anyways your doing better then anyone else out there cant wait for doh or dot for fullproof privacy and security. Thanks

  14. Specify the Profile when Invoking ProtonVPN

I would like to be able to invoke ProtonVPN with a specific profile preferably via a Shortcut in MAC OS and IOS or via AppleScript. The use case is to be able to start Proton VPN with a different profile based on the WIFI network I connect to. Today in MAC OS I can launch ProtonVPN automatically but have to manually specify the profile and start the App.

  15. Move back to the previous UI

Today's recent UI change is terrible. The "Secure Core" toggle switch on the main screen is gone and now takes 2-3 clicks to turn on/off, whereas before it was a single click on the toggle.

The country flag squares was a great UI and now I have to scroll thru a list that's 3x as long to get to the bottom, for example.

It's a huge downgrade in your UI. Please, please offer the ability to opt-out of this UI redesign, it's terrible.

  16. Connect to last profile on insecure network

It would be great to connect the VPN when an insecure (non-encrypted) wifi network is connected.

I actually have a PR out for this on the Windows client, be it only for English translations.

  17. Tutorial on how to let network traffic flow through ProtonVPN only for specific IP/MAC address on OpenWRT router.

Tutorial on how to set up OpenWRT to let network traffic flow through ProtonVPN only for specific [list of] devices, while the rest goes through the regular routing.

There are different posts in the openWRT forum, but no one of them is specific for a private VPN vendor for this specific feature.

An example of post where after many iterations nothing really works is this one: https://forum.openwrt.org/t/any-beginners-guides-for-policy-based-routing-with-commercial-vpn-and-keeping-non-vpn-wan-as-primary-routing/177423/3

  18. Add option to run on boot after a delay

Add an option to add a user-defined delay to the "start on boot" option.

I have a lot of programs that run auto-update packages on boot, but almost all of them won't update over the VPN, presumably because downloads through VPN IP addresses have been blocked.

Rather than running every updater through a split tunnel (which I would struggle to set up for every program) I would like to be able to delay the VPN startup on my PC.

I've done this presently with Task-Scheduler, but would be much more comfortable if it was in-app.
