Feature parity between Windows/Mac and Linux
I've started using Proton VPN in Windows, and it's a great app, full of resources, with great graphics, many resources, ability to auto-start, start minimized, auto-connect to a profile... The Mac version also looks very similar to Windows'.
However, recently I changed to Linux (Pop OS, Ubuntu based), and although I had no problems installing the GUI version of the app, it does not even remotely resemble the Windows/Mac version. It's a very, veeeeeeeeery simple app, without the majority of configuration options present in their other OS's counterparts.
Proton VPN team should dedicate more time to make the Linux version…

Show server latency
without knowing if I'll get good latency makes people hesitant to subscribe for premium plans. Let people browse the servers and see the latency they get even if it's locked out for free users.

Option to exclude free servers (for subscribers)
Somewhere in the settings or connection page, please provide a way for paid subscribers to exclude connecting to FREE servers when not selecting a specific server.

Dedicated IP for personal plans
It is an option for business users and would be a nice add for home users. My wife is sick of all the capchas and blocked sites from the VPN. I have been using Proton mail since 2019 and the unlimited since last year. Had to switch back to mail only until you add the dedicated ip to home users at a reasonable cost.
Thank you for the consideration.

Use Quantum-Resistant Cryptogtaphic Algorithm
OpenVPN uses TLS for encryption, Quantum Proof Algorithms including the four selected by NIST are provided by liboqs. The library is already present in repositories of many Linux Distros. liboqs is integrated in TLS, means no additional work is required for the client side. This would be very easy to implement in The VPN.
Much better alternative would be that Proton makes it's own Algorithm. It would be a good way to add it as an optional feature in the initial stages for testing.

A Proper ProtonVPN Linux Client With GUI
I would love to see a proper ProtonVPN Linux Client with GUI that looks similar to the Windows version and with the same features. The current Linux client does not look good and it's too much and not plain and simple like with the Windows version. Is there anyone else that are not happy with the current client and want a better one?

Add a censorship-resitant technology such as V2RAY or UPD-over-TCP.
Mullvad VPN uses Wireguard obfuscation (UDP2TCP). IVPN on iOS uses V2RAY. Those protocols allows to reliably bypass censorship. Proton on the other hand only has Stealth, which is unreliable and often disconnects.
Request : Add a censorship-resitant technology such as V2RAY or UPD-over-TCP.

Automatically enable vpn on public or compromised Wifi's
Offer a switch to make Proton VPN automatically connect to its services when it detects that you are connected to a Public or Compromised Wifi.
This can be useful if you don't want the VPN to turn on in your home wifi, but you still want to turn it on when connected to a public wifi.

Detect when a server has high latency or slow speed and automatically change servers
Sometimes my connection speed seems to become very slow. I often disconnect and reconnect to re-establish a decent connection speed. It would useful if profiles allowed for an option to automatically change servers when high latency or slow speed is detected.
The option could select to reconnect to the best server in the same country or region or globally - based on a function of latency and speed.

Submit Linux package updates in official distro repos
Proton VPN is open source and uses well-known and established components of the NetworkManager stack. Due to these two things, there is virtually nothing standing in the way of the Proton VPN team from building and submitting packages officially to Linux distributions like Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, EPEL, etc. Proton VPN is further enhanced by packaging upstream by increasing the availability of Proton VPN software packages in the global software package mirroring network (deterring censorship) and benefiting from improved transparency and openness by building packages through distribution-supported build systems, which are often reproducible.
The policies of most distros are friendly to…

Exclude unwanted countries from the list of random and fastest servers.
It often happens that in random or fastest mode, a connection is established through servers in countries that are not desirable for many people.

Disable VPN when on trusted Wifi Connections
I love ProtonVPN. I use it on my Android phone, and have it installed on my home router to protect all my devices on my home network. When I connect my Android phone to my home wifi network, I would love for my ProtonVPN app to sense the new connection and disconnect it on my phone--so that I only use the mobile app when I'm out in the world on 4G/5G and public wifi connections.

Implementing an option that makes traffic analysis, done by AI or otherwise, more difficult. Similar to what Mullvad has created with DAITA

Split Tunneling on Linux
Split Tunneling is not currently officially supported for Linux. This feature is a must for me. The ProtonVPN tooling (both cli and gui) is not up to par with the MacOS and Windows counterparts. Please show us that you care about the Linux community.

Detect DNS leak and warn ProtonVPN users
An encrypted DNS (Called DoH - DNS over https) is said by you (in the later linked article) to "prevents our software from being able to see the DNS queries. This makes it very hard to block or reroute them."
causing DNS leak, which can be considered a serious privacy compromise IMO.
https://www.dnsleaktest.com
https://ipleak.netIt seems to be too severe not to warn user about it in case it is doable from the side of your application. I guess your app tries to read the DNS request and if is encrypted, it fails and can do some action, like displaying…

Stealth for Linux
Develop these applications for the desktop on Linux.
It's not normal that these applications are not available on Linux for a paid client.
GNU / Linux is globally open-source, free and fight for the privacy and freedom in the digital world.Best regards

Split Tunneling: Two Different VPN Connections Simultaneously
If technically feasible, I would find it great if two VPN connections could be established simultaneously via split tunneling, for example one for streaming and one for everything else, or one with port-forwarding and at the same time a second one without port-forwarding.

Disconnect VPN for timed period
My default is to leave ProtonVPN connected. If I disconnect it, its usually for a specific task, like trying to resolve zoom glitches, accessing a site that isn't available with the VPN on, or trying to speed up a large file download. 99% of the time I do not remember to turn ProtonVPN back on after the task is complete, and I discover its off 1/2 - 1 week later. I would love the ability to turn off ProtonVPN for a set time period: 1/6/12/24 hours etc and then have it resume the fastest connection possible.

Create private VPN (like meshnet)
NordVPN has a great Meshnet feature
https://nordvpn.com/features/meshnet/
It would be great to have something similar.
Thing is Android devices allow for only 1 VPN connection at once (I think iOS is the same?) So I cannot currently use Proton VPN and Zerotier for example. Having a Protonvpn "Meshnet" would solve my needs.
