  2. Implement CAKE SQM to Prevent a Single Client from Monopolizing the Bandwidth

    I would like to propose a change to Proton's VPN servers to use the CAKE SQM to improve the overall connection quality.

    CAKE is currently the latest traffic control algorithm I've known that's better than HTB + FQ_CODEL and should be deployed in any network big enough (i.e., 500+ users, that makes traditional QoS and bandwidth management hard and could probably introduce human errors).

    So using TCP BBR is just not enough because this works only for TCP connections, while there are just so many different connections in a network other than TCP. So CAKE will help regulate these connections…

  5. Use Tasker to enable/disable VPN so we can turn on only when certain apps is in foreground

    Even if there is a split tunnel feature, to improve battery life, android app should expose some intent so apps like Tasker can enable/disable it automatically.

  7. By having it actually connect.

    instead of free proton saying connecting and never connects, let's try making it connect and learning about how to do that more easily without being redirected to compare plans or upgrading, it seems that's all you all want to discuss or suggest.

  8. Fix Power Button Alignment in iOS App

    In the Countries View of the iOS app, the connect buttons are not centered properly. Visually the icon is centered in the circle, but because of the height of the icon it needs to be offset slightly in the positive y direction to "look" centered to the human eye. It's driving me nuts.

  9. select country for certain URLs

    I'd like to be able to choose a specific country for some URLs which are limited to a certain geography.
    Accessing some URLs requires changing the country through ProtonVPN. If these URLs could be attached to a specific country, it would make life easier.
    FWIW, I guess these connection can be counted as an additional device for any plan limitation.

    Another way to think of it is having a split configuration.

  11. Open New VPN Servers in Las Vegas, Nevada

    When I first began using Proton VPN back around 2018, I remember there being servers in Las Vegas. Then a few years ago those servers just disappeared. Where did they go? Las Vegas has Switch, which is a 495 MW Tier 5 Exascale Data Center - one of the largest colocation data centers in the world. So please open some servers here in Las Vegas!! It's a no brainer!!

    In countries where access to VPN is limited and it is impossible or difficult to connect to servers.
    To bypass censorship, you can add bridges like Tor
    You can get them in your account settings or by clicking on the button in the program itself.
    Thanks to bridges, it will be possible to bypass connection restrictions
    Bridges may be available during the account login stage and can later be changed in the application settings.
    (this will be especially useful in the desktop version of the application)

  15. streaming services working or not servers

    So many of the streaming servers have been flagging proton ip's and not allowing streaming over it. It would be super nice to have a few dedicated rotating ip's for removing region lock. Most of us find it rather silly that if you live 100 miles over a line then suddenly south park or rick and morty are "too hot for tv". And most of us would rather not resort to alternative gray areas of streaming.

  18. Adding new servers in Romania

    Hello,I came here to post about thi idea because in Romania the servers are always at 85%/90% and it's kinda lowering my gaming expirience on mobile(aldo on Windows 10). It would be really nice. And also i would like a new feature for example let's say on the free plan you don't like the server you chose to connect and you don't want to wai 1:20-20 minutes. How about an option that you can chose a country to connect manually without waiting.

  19. Using stealth protocol instead of alternating routing for desktop app VPN log in

    In some countries proton services are blocked and alternative rounting is not helping to log into your proton accout. This forces you to install other VPN apps to get inside proton vpn desktop. Using stealth feature would allow to log into your account even in countries where alternative routing is useless
