  1. add URIs to the protonvpn:// scheme

currently the scheme protonvpn:// exists, but it only opens the app.
it would be really useful if you could do actions with it like connecting or disconencting or connecting to a specific profile, or connect to a specific server with specific settings

  2. More server list on the Apple TV app

Right now the choice is really limited of the servers that can be picked per country on the apple TV app.

This is limiting because some servers sometimes don't work or are banned and then the vpn is un-usable.

  4. There Currently Isn't a VPN That works with Netflix in Japan

Trying to watch The Office on Netflix in Japan, but none of the VPN files I put in my router are for streaming.

  5. A browser extension kill switch

Today Proton VPN had a global outage, and I was shocked to see that my firefox browser had disconnected from Proton VPN and was using my real IP connection! I would really like this important security feature added to the browser extension/addon.

  6. macOS: support "Access devices by name" (mDNS/Bonjour) for LAN connections, like Windows already has

The Windows app has "Access devices by name" (Settings → Connection → Advanced → Allow LAN connections), which resolves local hostnames via mDNS/Bonjour while connected. The macOS app has no equivalent - "Allow LAN connections" only permits unicast IP traffic to the same subnet, not multicast/mDNS, so hostname resolution to LAN devices fails while connected.

Workaround is using the device's IP address instead of its hostname, which works but is a real papercut for anyone routinely accessing local devices (NAS, RDP targets, printers) by name while on VPN.

Requesting macOS parity with the Windows "Access devices by name" feature. Confirmed…

  7. More Tor servers

There are only a handful of Tor servers across all countries, and they're close to capacity most of the time. Meanwhile, there are other servers that hover around the low double digits. Any chance of shifting some of that capacity to Tor?

  8. Domain-based split tunneling for iOS

A solution appears to have been found for iOS devices by a few other VPN services, like Surfshark & their 'Bypasser' feature.

  9. Application ProtonVPN for KDE Plasma (Flatpak, RPM, DEB)

KDE Plasma users currently have no official ProtonVPN application. The community Flatpak works, but it is not maintained by Proton and lacks full feature parity with the official GNOME version.

    Problem:

KDE‑based gaming distributions (Bazzite, Nobara, Fedora KDE, Kinoite) rely heavily on Flatpak to keep the system clean, stable, and immutable.

Many KDE users want an official Flatpak, but also official RPM and DEB packages, so they can choose the format that best fits their distribution and workflow.

GNOME already has an official ProtonVPN application, while KDE has no native or officially supported version.

    Impact:

    The community Flatpak is functional,…

  10. Support Windows MSIX / MS Store apps for Split Tunneling

When selecting applications to be allowed through or denied for split-tunneling on windows, only the raw path to the exe is supported.

The raw path of MS Store apps like Windows APP to replace RDP has the version in the path to the executable.
It also has seamless updating. So it randomly stops working since my work needed the Windows App to be not going through VPN.

Please add this functionality to the UI / Engine to allow at least resolving the path to the MSIX / MS Store app.

You can do this in powershell or similar for example…

  11. ProtonVPN - Community Reporting System for Undetected Threats in NetShield

I propose adding a feature to Proton VPN that allows users to report websites that are malicious, display intrusive advertising, or fall into other categories aligned with the core purpose of the feature, but are not yet detected by NetShield.

With the engagement of the Proton community, I believe this could benefit everyone's privacy and security.

The potential drawback would be the additional workload for the Proton team. Analyzing reports — including both false positives and false negatives — would generate a significant increase in work volume.

  12. Implement a whitelist for websites accessible outside the VPN

I recommend introducing a whitelist mechanism that allows approved websites to be accessed directly over the Internet. Routing all traffic through the VPN is not always necessary and may, in some cases, raise performance or security considerations. A controlled whitelist would enable specific websites to bypass the VPN while preserving overall security and governance policies.

  13. Split Tunnelling in Proton CLI

With Split Tunnelling now available in the GUI app, it is a real shame not to have it in the CLI app, where it would be just as useful if not more.

  14. Show basic stats in iOS ProtonVPN App and use Stats to connect to optimal server

I wish the iOS could show some basic stats such as: ping time, data upload in past hour/day, data download in past hour/day, max up/down speeds over different time windows.
Next step would be to use the ping data or max speeds to make connection choices - like to reconnect to another server in that country (or a set of countries) based on lowest ping or highest speed server.
At the moment it feels like some of the WiFi networks I connect to might be traffic shaping and I wish ProtonVPN would seek out and reconnect to better servers when…

  15. Split tunnel networks

In the split-tunnel section. Allow additional networks to be added to the list of excluded apps. this would prevent local network access from breaking for users who have more than 1 vlan/network that they need access to.

  16. Better VPN Compatibility With Government Services

I think it would be useful if Proton VPN could improve compatibility with government apps and online services. There are situations where users want to keep their VPN enabled while completing important tasks, but some services do not always work smoothly with a VPN connection. For example, people using the eGovPH app for NBI Clearance renewal may need to switch their VPN off during the process, even though they would prefer to keep their connection protected. I came across the renewal process at https://onlinenbiclearance.ph/nbi-clearance-renewal-egovph-app/ while looking into how these services work, and it made me think that better compatibility with…

  17. burner numbers

Can Proton VPN add a feature so we can add a burner number when needed, so we can make calls anonymously to
keep our primary number hidden and our conversations untraceable, ensuring our identity always stays protected?

  18. Check Traffic Challan Online with Ease

Keeping track of traffic fines is an important part of responsible vehicle ownership. Instead of waiting for a paper notice or visiting a traffic office, drivers can use online resources to learn how eChallan systems work, understand traffic violation records, and review information about checking challan status. Online guides can also explain common terms, the details typically included in a challan, and the general process for verifying traffic fine information. Staying informed helps drivers respond to legitimate notices on time and maintain accurate vehicle records.

If you're looking for a simple guide to understanding eChallan services and traffic fine checks,…

  19. ProtonVPN CLI on Boot (systemd)

    Launching ProtonVPN on Boot

Linux users often uses a dedicated machine to store local services.
It is very important for us to have the ability to enable VPN and Killswitch feature before connecting to Internet.

Actually, It is possible to configure a systemd service using Wireguard config or OpenVPN config but no KillSwitch feature is ready "out of the box", but It would be very nice to have an OpenVPN CLI that can be used on systemd.

  20. ProtonVPN Extension Login Change

When you login into the ProtonVPN Extension it would be better if it did not log into all other Proton services (Mail, Drive etc.) on the web. If you're only using that.

It should only log into the extension alone. I'm sure users will agree this is better in general for security.
