   Add an option to customize how notification popups are displayed. Currently, notification text can be too long and wraps to a second line, making the compact notification window less convenient.

   The app should allow users to choose between two notification modes:

   Compact mode: shows only the most important information selected by the user, such as download and upload speed, without extra details like total downloaded or uploaded data.

   Full mode: shows the complete notification with all available information, similar to the current display.

   This would make notifications more flexible and easier to read depending on the user's needs.

4. Add Quick Share Support to Split Tunneling

   Split tunneling does not allow adding or excluding Android Quick Share. Quick Share is a key Android system feature for transferring files between the phone(s) and a laptop. Since it is a system app, Proton VPN does not provide a way to exclude it from VPN filtering or add specific rules for it.

   Steps to reproduce:

   1. Enable Proton VPN on Android.
   2. Open Split Tunneling settings.
   3. Try to add or exclude Quick Share.
   4. Attempt to transfer files to a laptop using Quick Share.

   Expected behavior:
   Quick Share should be available in Split Tunneling settings, or there should be a way to create rules for it so file transfers can work while VPN is enabled.

   Actual behavior:
   Quick Share cannot be added or excluded because it is treated as a system app. File transfer requires disabling the VPN every time.

   Impact:
   This is critical because users must turn off VPN whenever they need to transfer files using Quick Share.

5. Mac OS VPN App Sort Servers By Load

   This is specifically for the Mac OS version of the app. For countries that have multiple states with multiple server, it would be great to have an option to sort the server for the entire country by load, rather than having to go into each state. This is how the iOS app works and it is much more convenient than having to manually check through everything.

6. Add a protonvpn website API or webpage to obtain public IP address

   The current https://protonvpn.com/what-is-my-ip-address website is convenient in order to find out my device's public IPv4 address. However, the way it is coded, the address is displayed using javascript (default 127.0.0.1). This makes it impossible to use curl from a script to find out the device's public IPv4 address. As a result, scripts have to use other websites. There are many that offer this, but it's not very private.

   For those of us who need an algorithmic way to find out IPv4 address using a script, it would be nice if Proton offered this same capability. For example, https://ifconfig.me/ can be used by parsing the HTML output to find the IPv4 address. Better is https://ipv4.icanhazip.com, but this also has privacy issues.

   Of course, the site should be rate limited, to prevent overload. My script usually checks every 30 minutes.

   Another approach would be to only serve the IPv4 address when presented with an OAuth token, which could be created by a logged in user on the protonvpn.com website. Even if this expires , say, on a yearly basis, I would not mind updating my script occasionally to use a newer token.

7. VPN Pause with Timed ReConnection

   From time to time I have to disconnect from the VPN for certain websites. I sometimes forget to turn the VPN back on. I would like to have a Pause button that works on a timed interval. Pause VPN for one hour, for instance. The VPN could alert the user just before the VPN resumes, and would be like your alarm where maybe you can Snooze the timer, or allow it to start back up.

   Alternatively, if we can just have an alert when we start the PC if the VPN has been manually disconnected, then I would be notified to turn the VPN back on.

   In the end, I need a way to avoid leaving my VPN off for too long.

8. Add internet speed check + reconnect

   Hello this is for the web extension <- very important since i am not talking about the desktop vpn

   feature where we add a specific value, like maybe 1 minute? each time it checks if we are still connected correctly to the internet since i noticed a lot of times that i can speak with no issues with Lumo (aka i am connected to the internet?) but, anywhere i try to use the web, nothing happens, and i get the no internet. Something that makes no sense since other browers work with no issue. Then i click on the extension, change the current country and now it works....

   aka the issue is the vpn itself.

   And the add internet speed check does exactly that, it checks the connection of the current website we are on. If it does not work, the vpn extension reconnects itself without compromising the vpn itself. And if we also have different locations then to even try different countries depending on what settings we added.

   Plus the split tunnelling can work here even better since we can clearly set which website to connect to what country or location. And like this we don't even need to switch.

10. Multiple WG Clients on One Router

    Hello ProtonVPN Support,

    I am running ProtonVPN on an ASUS RT-AX86U router using Asuswrt-Merlin firmware. I would like to run multiple ProtonVPN WireGuard client profiles simultaneously and route different LAN clients through different ProtonVPN exits using Merlin’s VPN Director policy-routing feature.

    The problem is that all of the ProtonVPN WireGuard configuration files generated for my account appear to use the same tunnel-side addresses:

    Interface Address:
    10.2.0.2/32

    DNS:
    10.2.0.1

    When I enable multiple ProtonVPN WireGuard clients at the same time on the router, all clients show successful handshakes, but traffic does not route correctly. The router’s route tables end up associating the shared tunnel-side address 10.2.0.1 with only one WireGuard interface, so DNS and/or internal tunnel routing for the other WireGuard clients appears to collide.

    For example, with multiple WireGuard clients enabled, several routing tables point 10.2.0.1 to wgc1, even when a LAN client is supposed to route through wgc5. When I disable all ProtonVPN WireGuard clients except one, the remaining client works correctly. In that state, 10.2.0.1 is routed through the active WireGuard interface and traffic passes normally.

    This strongly suggests that the issue is not the WireGuard tunnel itself, but the fact that multiple ProtonVPN WireGuard profiles use the same internal tunnel address and DNS address when active on the same router.

    Could ProtonVPN provide WireGuard configuration files suitable for simultaneous use on a single Linux/Asuswrt-Merlin router, with unique tunnel-side addresses per profile/device? For example, something like:

    Profile 1:
    Address = 10.2.0.2/32
    DNS = 10.2.0.1

    Profile 2:
    Address = 10.2.1.2/32
    DNS = 10.2.1.1

    Profile 3:
    Address = 10.2.2.2/32
    DNS = 10.2.2.1

    Or another supported configuration approach that avoids route collisions when multiple ProtonVPN WireGuard clients are active at the same time.

    My goal is to use multiple ProtonVPN WireGuard exits simultaneously on one router, assigning different LAN clients or subnets to different ProtonVPN WireGuard clients via VPN Director. OpenVPN clients work in this role because their tunnel interfaces receive distinct addressing, but the WireGuard profiles collide because they reuse 10.2.0.2/32 and 10.2.0.1.

    Please let me know whether ProtonVPN supports unique WireGuard tunnel addresses per profile/device, or whether simultaneous multiple WireGuard clients on a single router are unsupported with ProtonVPN-generated configs.

12. Domain-based (FQDN) Split Tunneling for Desktop and Mobile

    Please add domain-based split tunneling (e.g., *.company.intern) to the Windows/macOS desktop clients, similar to how the browser extension already handles it.

    The current IP- and App-based split tunneling is unreliable for modern web services with dynamic IPs/CDNs and internal corporate networks.

    Solution: The client should monitor DNS queries for specified domains and dynamically route the resolved IPs. This would massively improve reliability and close a major feature gap compared to enterprise VPN clients.

    When you connect to ProtonVPN using the command line your new IP is is played but you don't know your server load unless you type in protonvpn status, if you use the GUI you find out about the server load automatically, I want to propose the server load is displayed automatically every time you connect to ProtonVPN using the Linux command line along with usual assigned IP.

14. kill switch on the browser extensions

    There should be a kill switch function on the browser extension (in my case its Firefox). NordVPN and other competitors have this ability. It's the only thing preventing me from buying a full subscription.

    It's especially important on MacOS where Proton themselves recommend to use browser extensions instead of the desktop app for split tunnelling due to Apple's webkit based apps messing with it. ( https://protonvpn.com/support/protonvpn-split-tunneling#macos )

    I notice you have Proton Pass on Quest, but I've also seen Nord & Express VPN on the store. Proton VPN is my VPN of choice so it would be nice to see it there (or even a VR app on Steam for the future Steam Frame!)

16. Add smart / rule-based split tunneling (auto GeoIP routing)

    Please add automatic, rule-based split tunneling to the desktop apps:

    Local-country traffic → direct, everything else → VPN, decided automatically by a built-in GeoIP / domain ruleset (no manual lists).
    Add an "Include only" mode on macOS (currently Exclude-only).
    Support domain-based split tunneling in the desktop client, not just the browser extension.
    I live in a restricted-network region where local banking/payment services block foreign IPs, while international services need the VPN. Without auto routing, I must either tunnel everything or maintain endless manual lists. This feature would keep power users inside Proton instead of switching to Clash/Surge.

    Just make it so the background is the same dark gradient as every other macOS app; that way it won't stick out in the dock.

20. ProtonVPN for OpenSUSE

    Flatpak sand-boxing makes a fully functioning VPN client difficult. While I still think it's a good option to push the VPN client to more Linux distros, if that isn't an option, I'd like to see an OpenSUSE supported VPN client.
