2. Show VPN server hostname/IP and its providers

   I suggest adding detailed VPN server specifications, including hostname/IP and provider information, to make it easier for users to select servers based on individual preferences. This additional information would provide more transparency and control, enhancing the user experience.

3. Pause VPN

   For Proton VPN Android app, currently you are only able to "disconnect" from the VPN connection. Please provide a function to "pause for x mins" from both within the app but more conveniently from the drag down menu from the top of Android screen, where the running instance of the VPN is. NordVPN has this feature, and it is constantly useful for those moments where something you're doing isn't compatible with the VPN, but you want thw safety and convenience of it it turning back on automatically.

4. Allow Killswitch to be enabled with Split Tunnel

   Currently, the app will not allow you to use the Split Tunnel feature if you have the Killswitch enabled. Having migrated from Private Internet Access, I was used to having this possibility with their client and would love to see this in Proton VPN as well.

   Having some exceptions configured to bypass the VPN should not completely block the killswitch feature and open the risk of IP leaks.

   I would be okay with the VPN app completely killing my bypassed connections as well, it wouldn't even have to be gracefully respecting those. That would just be a nice-to-have.

5. Sort the list of countries by proximity

   This would be really useful for those of us who download via Torrent, every time I want to download via Torrent I have to manually search for the country closest to my country to get the fastest download speed. Which makes me have to scroll down quite a lot, when you do it so many times it ends up being very tiring and that's why I would like the country closest to mine to be at the top of the list.

6. VPN per site

   It would be nice to add a feature to browser extension that would allow to set up different VPN countries (or lack of VPN) per site. This is (or at least was) possible in Zenmate.

7. Timer for the random Vpn

   I would like to see the possibility to use the random Vpn option as a default one, with a timer to change the location constantly. I often use my devices for long period without setting them off, and time to time I change the server or the location for better privacy. But it would be nice to be able to set this automatically.

8. Split Tunnel: individual WiFi SSID subnet whitelists for VPN bypass, plus Kill Switch coexistence

   Allowing split tunneling to combine with kill switch is a common request, and is pretty important for many people. Also an available feature of other VPN services. This is needed.

   Turning off VPN for even a split second in order to access something on your local network significantly degrades the anonymity the VPN was providing you (all local apps get to phone home with the latest connection information, that data shared/sold/crossreferenced with other data obtained while connected to VPN, etc). I do not want a single packet leaving my phone/tablet unless it is protected by VPN -OR- going directly to a local subnet of an EXPLICITLY TRUSTED WiFi network. I want VPN protecting all traffic when at a coffee shop or airport public wifi, but I need local access to devices on my home network or while at a friends home or other explicitly trusted WiFi network.

   "LAN Connections" mode is insufficient:
   - Direct access to/from other devices while connected to public wifi networks is a bad idea
   - I only want to allow my device access to the local network when I am connected to a WiFi SSID that I explicitly authorize local access for.
   - I also need access to devices in different subnets of my local network outside of the DHCP IP pool assigned to WiFi devices.

   "Split Tunnelling->Excluded IP addresses" is insufficient:
   - Nearly all private and public WiFi networks reuse the same private IP address ranges, so all "Excluded IP addresses" that are (very likely) private network IP addresses will allow access to any devices at same IPs but on other WiFi networks. Unintended and unwanted access!
   - Current android app version does not allow entries for an entire subnet, only specific individual IPs. I have many local servers/devices/IOT on my home network organized into different subnets with different firewall rules, some of them with dynamic IPs that I need access to while connected to my home WiFi SSID.

   New Update to existing Features: "Per WiFi SSID subnet whitelist for VPN bypass"
   - Kill Switch: Fully coexistant with Split Tunnel. If on, zero packets escape device unless it goes out over VPN, or allowed to bypass VPN with specific rules.
   - Split Tunnel: Fully coexistant with Kill Switch.
   - Variable length list of VPN bypass rules
   - The simplest VPN bypass rule consists of a list of SSIDs and the associated VPN bypass whitelist of subnet(s) and/or Apps. These bypass rules only apply while connected to one of the explicitly listed SSIDs.
   - For whitelist of subnet(s), convenience option for all official local IP ranges (10.0.0.0/8,192.168.0.0/16, etc) to bypass VPN -OR- use list of explicit subnets/IPs (for example 123.145.167.189,192.168.33.0/24, 10.12.0.0/16).
   - For whitelist, could also include individual Apps, same as currently supported, but fine tuned for different SSIDs.
   - If you want to get fancy: Standard-ish firewall rules with multi-interface outbound routing/NAT, or perhaps a simplified version of pfSense firewall rules? ;)

   IDEAL USAGE SCENARIO from my point of view:
   - "Set it and forget it" configuration, NEVER needing to toggle VPN/Kill Switch off
   - Kill switch ALWAYS enabled, optionally of course
   - VPN bypass for white list of public IP/domain names for direct connection (ie RAS for a tethered device, or services that block access from known VPNs)
   - SSID-based VPN bypass for all private IP ranges while I am connected to my explicitly specified home network SSID(s), ie MyHomeWiFi + MyHomeWiFi_5G
   - SSID-based VPN bypass for specified subnets while I am connected to explicitly trusted WiFi network SSIDs
   - (to be clear, "home" SSID(s) are not specified, just a list of SSID(s) to apply a specific rule to)
   - ProtonVPN app performing as a more general purpose rules-based firewall/router could be very interesting, but overkill for many people

   Extra credit:
   - VPN shared with tethered devices
   - Traffic from tethered devices routed same as on-device traffic (ie same VPN bypass rules, etc)
   - Tethered devices can communicate with each other (think peer-to-peer sync, data transfer, local webportal for admin, etc), while other traffic still routed appropriately
   - Outbound packets from tethered devices should naturally have a TTL of 64.
   - Un/Official association with GrapheneOS for advanced personal security and privacy features.

10. Allow Bulk-Download of wireguard configs

    Currently wireguard config files can be downloaded individually.
    It would be great if they could also be downloaded in groups/all together. A zip archive containing all selected configs would be ideal.

11. Provide a command to get current open port

    Private Internet Access (PIA) provides a convenient way to programmatically get the current port forward open port through the command line via the command:

    /path/to/piactl.exe get portforward

    This allows for automatic scripts to parse this information and update other applications on demand.

    Please provide a way to achieve the same effect on ProtonVPN, either via a a local rest API, a command line option, or a simple txt file that gets created and updated whenever the VPN connects/reconnects.

12. Favorite Servers- Mark Favorite

    We want to mark some servers as favorite...

    Scenario: If I'm connecting to Fastest Country and my favorite server is in the array, it would be my preferred connection.

    If we could mark servers as favorite, we would be able to see a list of those favorite servers with sorting, etc.

14. Reconnect to next best server

    Occasionally I have a slow connection to the "optimal" server or the quality of the connection changes overtime. I would love a single click button to connect to the next best server and not automatically reconnect to the one I was just connected to like it does when I manually cycle it.

15. Virtual Local/Peer Network

    Allow users the create their own local networks, with devices that are running ProtonVPN.

    For example a user would like to access a web server at home from his mobile device. Either directly to the web server or just by connecting to the his home LAN.

    Another example, two ProtonVPN users would like to have a connection between their personal computers, for a network development project.

    This would of course lay the foundation for a encrypted p2p messaging.

    And for advanced users and professionals this would make life a whole lot easier, given that the implementation would show what devices have what IP on the network, or the IP range a connected LAN has.

    Bonus points for making a Personal DNS, that adds known devices automatically to its database.

17. Pin countries at top of list for quick access

    Would love to see the option to pin certain countries at the top, to quickly connect to them. While I am aware, that you can theoretically kinda achieve this with profiles, I just want to reach my top countries with one click when opening Proton VPN.

18. Patch memory corruption bugs on Android VPN app

    On April 24th, 2024 it was reported to Proton Support that the Proton VPN app for Android has memory corruption issues and the relevant debug logs were included (request 2830533); the conclusion was that the report would be forwarded to the engineers. This was caught with GrapheneOS' memory tagging extension (MTE) feature which shuts down apps upon detection of memory errors. It's been over six months since the initial report and the Android Proton VPN app still crashes almost instantly if MTE is enabled. Since memory errors pose a security risk, please patch this as soon as possible.

20. Forward More Than One port

    Currently with dynamic forwarding a single port can be forwarded for P2P connections. Sometimes more than a single port is necessary (an obfuscated port). It would be helpful if we had the ability to forward multiple ports within the GUI rather than searching for third-party solutions.
