  5. What is the point of VPN profiles, if you cannot save the most essential connection settings into them?

When I use the VPN for everyday web surfing, checking emails, or streaming Netflix, I do not use features like split-tunnel, port-forwarding, or NAT moderation.
When I use the VPN for P2P file sharing (torrent), instead, I do need to activate the three features I just mentioned.

Therefore, at the moment I have to open the application settings and change these three manually every single time.

What is the point of allowing users to setup connection profiles for different purposes, if you cannot save essential connection settings that are clearly an advantage for some of those purposes (that you designed…

  6. split tunneling for domain name

Current split tunneling allows IP address and application. The IP address is an unreliable way to open a bypass to an external website.

Please add the ability to split tunnel to a domain name. This would help with various sites that block VPN Server IP addresses.

  7. unprotected network alert should have quick connect button

It's nice to get a popup, but first I have to click 'ok' and then go to protonvpn and click 'quick connect'.

Can we please have a button on the alert that lets us directly connect?

    I'm using the macos client.

  9. Generate QR for Wireguard Configuration

Allow the creation and display of Wireguard (OVPN too if the clients allow it too) configuration QR Codes.

So it's easy to setup a configuration on one machine (desktop for exemple) and use it on other (mobiles), without having to login with the web interface or share the configuration files.

  10. High Latency When Connecting to Santiago Server with ProtonVPN from Lima, Peru

    Dear ProtonVPN technical support,

I am writing to request your assistance with an issue I am experiencing when using your VPN service to connect to a server located in Santiago, Chile.

I am currently located in Lima, Peru and I have a FTTH connection with Claro Peru. However, when I try to connect to the server in Santiago using my regular internet connection, I experience latency of around 170ms. After running a traceroute, I believe that the issue is due to the routing of the data, as it appears to be going through Miami, Florida before returning to South America.

  13. Double hop through the user's VPS

As you know, in some countries there is a problem with access to VPN servers like ProtonVPN. In particular, in Russia access to all popular services is blocked, and sooner or later all of them will be blocked. The blocking is done in a clumsy way - by blacklisting the IP addresses of VPN servers, which makes protocols like Stealth useless. I'm not sure, but Iran may be blocking in a similar way.

I suggest the following solution: set up a "double hop" to ProtonVPN via a custom VPS. In other words, so that the users who have their VPS…

  16. improve dock icon to coincide with vpn status

on the macos dock the icon has 2 colour status; illuminated when connected, greyed when disconnected (from vpn).

when the app is completely closed the dock icon looks the same as the illuminated state suggesting the vpn may be active.

could we rethink the colours so that when the app is closed it matches the icons disconnected status.

    ie
app closed / disconnected = vpn off [grey]
app open / disconnected = vpn off [grey]
app open / vpn connected = vpn on [illuminated]
... or something along those lines

  17. When I click on a country, do not reconnect to the same node

From the toolbar app, when I click "UK" whilst already connected to the UK, I should be reconnected to a different UK server.

At the moment it disconnects from the VPN and then reconnects to the very same UK node.

The reason I want to change VPN is because there's some issue with the particular node I'm connected to. (In fact, if a user is doing what I've described, you should record it as an issue with the server in question.) Reconnecting to the same server just reconnects me to a server that I know doesn't work, and am actively…

  18. Tether digital currency support for subscription fees

Buying Tether currency is easier for us Iranians, and more exchanges in Iran use the TRC20 network to pay for international purchases. So, to buy a special subscription, we don't need to convert Tether to Bitcoin.

  20. Secure Core exit node in Switzerland

Please add a Secure Core exit point in Switzerland.

I know that I can choose an exit node in Switzerland -if- I first disable Secure Core. However, I would like to use Secure Core -and- set my exit node to Switzerland.

Use case: I'd prefer to -always- have my exit point in Switzerland because it is my home country and some sites and services require it. As a Proton Unlimited subscriber I find it awkward and annoying every time I need to switch profiles to disable Secure Core to access other services in Switzerland considering Proton itself is based in…
